dragonforger17
I thought Sanderson excelled though I was a little caught off guard as to how much he changed the "voice" of Mat. Nope, Faile did not. Unfortunately. yea he did change mat. However I totally agree something within this last book really makes me not trust faile. It just seems like shes up to something do you agree?
Dead Voodoo Doll
yea he did change mat. However I totally agree something within this last book really makes me not trust faile. It just seems like shes up to something do you agree? I wouldn't say she's gonna end up a baddy, she's just there for people to hate. I know plenty of women like her, friend's wives. It is what it is.
P_body
Someone (who actually likes and has read the books) wanna give a brief overview from the battle at Dumai's well, which is like the last thing I remember reading (wasn't that like in book 8 or 9?) up until now? No need for the spoilers etc, just an overview, not including the most recently written book.
mya
Perrin must be the most stupid male on the whole of Rand Land. He should have kicked her out the door, way back on book 3. Can't stand the girl, and how she get so much page-time. I hope the character dies in some horrid way.
Evangelion
Spoiler! Highlight to read! (white text) The Battle at Dumai's Wells was in the 6th book (Lord of Chaos), and it was a bloody battle between Elaida's White Tower Aes Sedai and the Shaido Aiel, and Rand's Aiel, the rebel Aes Sedai, and Asha'man led by Mazrim Taim. It occurred after the White Tower Aes Sedai kidnapped Rand and kept him doubled over in a box, except for when they brought him out to beat him. It is most notably the time when Rand descends into his increasingly emotionless/steeling phase, and one could argue, the beginning of his true descent into madness. Needless to say, Rand's allies win, and the Shaido/White Tower Aes Sedai suffer a very gruesome and debilitating defeat. However, despite the intent of the scene, I maintain that Sanderson is much better at writing epic scenes (a bunch of scenes, but battles in particular) than Jordan was. samag08
You've all got me really wanting to re-read the first 8 or so that I did and finish the series now. There goes a good few months, lol.
mya
I will be waiting for the Last book to finish the series. To tired of reading a book and not remembering who are the sec characters because previous book was years ago.
Dead Voodoo Doll
I must say that one chapter with Mat was an amazing story within a story. Haven't read anything like that since The Monk by Matthew Lewis.
The Professor
Even though I wish Jordan could have finished the series out...Sanderson did well enough... This last book was worth the purchase in my eyes, I think the spirit of Jordan and what he wanted to encompass was kept alive. If for nothing more than finally getting some kind of closure on the series, I would still make the investment, though, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. I have A LOT of con's with the series, but I have far more pro's.
