Idea to balance the overpowered tribunal

I'm gonna have to disagree with Chayesh. As I stated multiple times, the problem that others forsee is NOT that you become an outlaw, but the ramifications that come with being an outlaw. I personally don't really have any problems with tribs or vampires, but people complain about the solution rather than the premise. The 'overpowerness' factor that people complain about is because they believe that the game should be FAIR in all aspects, whether you are wanted or not, whether you fight a qrace/qclass or not, etc. One class/race/combo shouldn't completely dominate.

Once again, I reiterate, this is not my opinion but the general attitude I get from those who rigorously complain.

In any case, there are numerous ways to beat a vampire. This actually goes along with beating most classes. People have fought vamps before...what spells do they favor? What skills do they favor? What items are obtainable that will reduce these specific traits? Do you have detect magic up? Seriously, if you're a giant sized race with detect magic and the vampire makes a specific oversight, you'll sooooooo screw him over. I remember an ogre warrior gladiator with 5 pieces of decent rare completely crushing my vampire. What weapons do the vampire use? Do you know if it's burnproof or not? What time of day is it? What SUPPLIES does the vampire have (get someone to locate some items for you)? Do you have protection from evil on? How long does your sanc last? Who ELSE is in the area that might possibly give you aid (not saying to gangbang, although I am all for that against an uber powerful character, but healing or recall or whatnot)?

I'm betting that more than 50% of the people who fight Mart are running on adrenaline rush and make ditzy mistakes. Or that those people haven't even THOUGHT of these methods and just go in hoping for the best.

Oh, my disagreement isn't personal. When I first started saying tribs were overpowered my only pinn was a member of the militia and I was trying at Tribunal.

I don't know if I am correct. But this is what I think.

Council gets e-skill.

REDMARKERED.

Looking at it from a sense perspective, the council are the ruling class they have resources at their disposal like saying "Bob, and the rest of my cronies seal off this region nobody gets in or out until I say" and shazam youre eskilled...now people will counter with but I use magic or something, and the royal can say "Bob, get the mage buddies down here and blanket it so magic aint goin anywhere either, and pa...get me my shotgun."

The Vindicator is an elite position within the Blood Tribunal. The Vindicator

has moved beyond the duties of a Magistrate, to focus solely upon bringing

criminals to justice. They are the ultimate hunters, and have exchanged many

of the traditional Magistrate powers for those more useful in the hunt. While

a Vindicator may lead by setting an example as a superb Tribunal, they are not

the leaders of the cabal in the traditional sense. They do not induct new

members or uninduct poor ones, nor do they dictate Spire policy. These duties

are left solely to the Provost. More often than any other member of the

Tribunal cabal, the Vindicators will be spending much of their time outside of

the cities.

Because it is often unclear whether a Vindicator is on or off-duty, it is

NEVER illegal to attack a Vindicator outside of a protected city or the Spire,

whether they have guards with them or not.

That is an idea?

The Justiciar is an elite position within the Blood Tribunal. The Justiciar

has moved beyond the more general duties of a Magistrate, to focus

solely upon the investigation. They are the watchdogs of the cities, and

have given up some of the more traditional Magistrate powers for those

more suited to their enhanced role as investigators. While the Justiciar

may lead the way during an investigation, they are not the leaders of the

cabal in the traditional sense. They do not induct new members or

uninduct poor ones, nor do they dictate Spire policy. These duties are

left solely to the Provost. While much of their time will be spent inside

the protected cities, a Justiciar may go wherever their investigation

takes them.

Another idea...

Of course the councilor thats make the laws would act upon the two above when a justiciar or vindicator is not on duty or wake. Otherwise they oversee the tribunal and the three cities, and its officers of the law under them. Also making laws that are NOT over powered to llimit outside city pk'ng.

Just some ideas... is all don't beat me up to much on it.

cezar....

when did this become CF? el oh el.

True said

LOL true true I did use the ideas off another mud but... thats all it was is an idea to ponder on.

Caught red handed.
