P_body
I've been playin this MUD since just after Beta. But I've never branched out and played anything to 50 aside from the basic melee-like or hiding types of warrior, thief, ninja, dk, and vamp, nor have I played around with any cabal but Knight, Nexus, and Syndicate. Lookin to branch out and lookin for some advice. I'll only be playin one character on a minimal basis. I don't know how easy it will be to always find groups, and I don't want to be totally dependent on my eq (even though a zerk still sounds fun). I also only plan on training through ranking. Whatever is ABSOLUTELY essential I will finish mastering once I get to 50. What are your suggestions for a race/class combo that could be intriguing in a specific cabal? Doesn't have to be the most powerful combo in the world. Just something that would be entertaining and not require hours upon hours of training etc. to be decent. H&R
Invoker anything. You will have fun, trust me.
P_body
I was under the impression that invokers require excessive amounts of training to be effective. That is not my cup of tea.
H&R
Not really. You can master all the essential spells (except dispel magic) while ranking. They are also not very EQ dependant, and once you got that full charged staff... Hubba hubba
P_body
What about ranking? At least as a zerker or something I can rank on my own. An invoker is USEless when they are trying to rank solo.
H&R
At early levels, buy a pet. Later on, do guild quests.

The-Nameless
Drow/elf invoker. They do NOT require much training in comparison to any other class. Almost all your spells save one master through use because of high int. Savant is also a GREAT place to take an invoker, as is Watcher. With the lack of Watcher I say make a fiery ball of woodland death.
Nekky
Berzerkers are the greatest. Shut up everyone else.
samag08
I agree with Nekky, but zerks are surely not for a comeback char. They are equipment dependent more than many classes and also require a medium amount of training. For your criteria I would suggest a drow invoker(elves are alright, I prefer evils because of area spells with this class) or a non giant cleric. Thirdly a drow or duergar shaman. Of all the combinations that -I- have played(I've played most;) ) over the years since just after beta those three are the closest match to your criteria. A high intelligence/medium wisdom invoker will learn nearly all his spells while ranking. Pets will quickly get you to midranks where you will be picked up by groups for your protections and high damage outputs. At pinnacle you will merely need a simple/basic suit of armors and a charged staff to get back on your feet/back into viable PK, but soloing areas will be quite difficult. Clerics/Shaman will rank slowly but surely and often times are picked up by any groups because of their abilities both to heal/protect and front battles during ranking. They would do well to train a few prayers before pinnacle but it is not a make or break the deal type of situation. In average wares with some clear thinking you will at the very least survive many PK situations at pinnacle if not come out the victor. Also, these two classes can explore new areas solo much easier than most classes might, including invokers. P.S. MY personal comeback char after an extended time away was a halfling cleric that went Savant. By the time I was through with that character I felt fully comfortable choosing and playing another class/race combination.
P_body
What seems to be a common number of players on lately? What are peak times? I've been checkin it out over the last 72 hours and it's....surprisingly...sparse. EDIT: I'm also somewhat set on playing a neutral, it's easier to make it to 50 when everyone is liable to be your friend until you piss them off. Celerity
During my playtime, it is usually 0 - 5 players. If I get to a different playtime, I can see 10 sometimes.
VileDeception98
I really think you should start back with an undead ninja or monk. Just my thoughts
P_body
Undead ninjas are a lot of fun. I seem to lean towards undeads and vamps. Demons are definitely tons of fun. Soooo much RP potential there that can be very engaging if done properly. Clerity, is that really all? Is that the common amount of players lately? That just isn't enough...wow. What times do you play at?
Celerity
Usually in about an hour or two from now or so

mya
A bard. http://forsakenlands.wikispaces.com/Bard It will be the perfect transition. You can play it like a warrior and you can hide to avoud PK, strike from surprise. It also alows you to Lore items and them Identify them. It's a class with Word of Recall, so you can save potions. You cannot autocast sanctuary, but with Wands you can use the Ankh as do Dark-Knights at 50. But you can cast cure serious. You PK or you can RP with extreme ease, and few people will initiate PK on a bard. Bard's Throw is an extremely powerful PK skill, you will be amazed. EQ is not that hard to get to a bard, just focus on Hit/Dam roll. With many items of easy access. Just ask around. If you wish to join a Cabal for PK, we recomend a Dwarven Bard. They are the Tank of bards, extremely powerful.
Nekky
Bazoikah. But yeah ... they're kind of tricky in ways. I'd suggest an irregular warrior. Pick a race that's not all that common. It can give an interesting twist to a often-played class. And you still have the all around reliability of a warrior at the end of the day. Questioner
I have seen anywhere from 2-15 people on. It really depends because I am sure not everyone can play everyday. It would also help if people clicked a small banner...the one just up there...no keep looking...to the right a bit more...no idiot, the one that says top mud sites on it.
