Croyvern
I would like to hear opinions about evil characters who seek the Herald Halls. As Evils one would expect that to stay IC they must be atleast a little offensive, rude, or even mean. Yet, if you play a Herald, or even a wanna be Herald, you run the risk of being expelled from the academy and ousted from the Library for attacking other players. According to the help files ANY race and ANY religion can apply to be a Herald, so I am left questioning if the help files need updated. Any and all information that any of you can share would be helpful. I know there was a vampire in Herald, he obviously had to have killed someone sometime. Hit me with all you know, please. jibber
Being evil doesn't mean you have to be mean, rude, or kill anyone. Being evil can be just the way you act toward different situations. Bias being a big one, (which goods are VERY well known for, obviously) as well as generally being very strict with rules and have harsh consequences. Evil heralds should definitely be allowed. No one's ever heard of an Evil Librarian? SHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Implementor Anume Posted November 6, 2009 Implementor Report Share Posted November 6, 2009 Evil is allowed, just read the help file to see which ethos. Aulian's vamp was a herald after all...
Aulian
yeah with a bunch of healers thhat killed my rp and forced me to delete That being said, I'll kill people all the time. No reason why a herald CANT be non combative. I see the exact same reason as to why a THIEF should ever be allowed into TRIBUNAL. Anything is possible. Plus looking at the past history of the Heralds, just look at JISIL. That was one angry and combative LEADER of HERALD. Dwarf combat cleric. jibber
Who was in turn changed to neutral and was then unable to use any divine intervention, plus several other key spells like ray of truth, per her RP. I think she was a Knight at first, got kicked out for helping a lowbie versus someone else (gave him sanctuary? big no-no.) and then turned around and went Herald. Great experience to play alongside her.
Dizz
Narnokles was a herald, after he mass murdered most of the PB. So, why not?
The Professor
For me...an Evil Herald would be all about the POLITICS! Use...manipulate...decieve...so on and so forth...with a smile, civility, and an alibi...leaving no trace of your "doings" would be great too...lol
Croyvern
Good advice, thank you all. And be warned, a dark storm rises. But like all good brews, I shall let it simmer for a very long time.
