-Totenkopf-
Too pissed off to play? Every time I do play, I cop the raw end of the stick. Sick of OOC connections, people logging on and off with eachother, sick of being beaten to a bloodied pulp with the gimp stick. Sick of peoples whinging, complaining and endless hatred and angst. Pretty much just fed up in general. I came within 1 more delete of deletion last night and washing my hands clean. I am not a fan of how this place operates. I am thinking I may need to pay someone out to get a break?

Implementor Anume Posted November 26, 2009 Implementor Report Share Posted November 26, 2009 Tot, as you insist to drag it here. You were given three !! chances to change how to use that skill. Only then this ONE single skill, that should not really influence your pk ability much, was taken. If you complain about being gimped in any pk sense now, that just shows again that you used this skill not as it is intended to be used. Stop whining. The current staff deals with problems with a lot more patience and gives multible warnings were there was just BOOM denied in 1.0.
Celerity
On the other hand, the rules in general (esp. regarding this skill) are a lot stricter now than they used to be. In 1.0, this wouldn't have come up because there was no rule against it. I'm actually in favor of the current rule, so don't get me wrong. You are just making a bad comparison. mya
Rolling. Something happened to my side project. So i decided to kill it and push forward my new project. Can't do a Masters, and run 3 projects. So will just keep main Character and one side project. 70+k tries and still rolling for an elusive 56. What skills are you talking about ? I know of no limitations of use on skills, other than game Code. Is this a general class thing, cabal or Qclass thing ?
TheNewGuy
Prolly qclass or cabal skill. Which then would mean that it's no use to ask.
tassinvegeta
This is the second time I've heard of ooc connections with timing of logins. But I've never seen it myself. Maybe its that people happen to play around the same playtime because its more fun when people are actually on with you? Not a flame but a serious question because I haven't seen it at all yet. Not sure what you mean about that gimp stick. But if its because of that single skill that I had to go up against nearly every time I fought your vamp. I'm quite astonished that you feel that way. It was the single reason for my death many times. I even gave up my life a couple of times because I solely cared about finding ways to prevent it. But than again I've only been on the receiving end. Just curious have you ever been on the receiving end of it? If so than I can understand your stand on it but if not... In my own opinion that is one of the most single overpowering skills I've ever faced and don't believe vamps need it at all esp one of the effects that it causes which seems the most minor of the others at first. On the other hand I don't believe we should remove the skill in its entirety or put limitations on its use. I know its difficult for others to deal with certain skills and strategies that seem invincible. That must be the reason for such animosity. Even I had to let it out on prayer forum of which I am ashamed of, so I can definitely understand how other less patient/mature players might react. Now that I know how to deal with it, its not nearly as bad but still pretty much means death if you get hit by it which seems easily done and don't know how to prepare for it beforehand. Ofcourse the same can be said about many other skills in fl but I can't go into the specifics about why I find this one to belong to a different category. Now that I think about it, it must be the reason vamps have always been considered op until now because I never understood it until I had to deal with it so often. I am interested in a civil discussion with about it with a vet such as yourself if you are interested.

I am thinking I may need to pay someone out to get a break? It is staff policy to deal with punishments in private. The first time you brought this BS onto the open forum I bit my tongue and said nothing. If you want to bring it here, we can discuss it. You abused a skill repeatedly and were spoken to multiple times by the IMMs about its proper use. I have personally watched you abuse the skill on more than one occasion - right after you were spoken to, no less. You were not "beaten with the gimp stick" - don't flatter yourself. Either drop the attitude that you could never possibly be wrong, and everyone else is screwing you over, or continue knocking the staff that gave you more chances than we should have, and I'll be happy to ban you. Go to Search and look up all the posts made by you. The majority of your posts are, in fact, whining about how you have been inconvenienced by some thing or another. Be a constructive member of the forum, or don't be one at all.
Mali
I think OOC connections are ok and should be encouraged. What is wrong with friends playing together? The more players the better. As far as Anume's comment about Imm punishing, I think the immortals could do more to promote an environment of fear and control. For example, random punishments could go a long way to get people in line. One method is to play eenie meenie mynie mo with whomever is logged on, and punish the one that gets the "my mother said to pick the very best one and you are it" then randomly abuse that player. If the player sticks around long enough to endure the abuse in good spirit, then reward the player. This pattern of abuse and reward will keep an air of mystery about being summoned or spoken to by the immstaff. Be sure to stay in character when doing this. It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both. If a mortal backtalks you, sleep them, blind them, and place them next to the turtle dragon, or their greatest enemy. Restring to faerie at the slightest whim (especially if they are evil and have an inflated ego). The slay command is your friend. But remember it is all in the spirit of fun. English lad
I didn't fight your vamp recently so I can't comment - but that skill has been semi-restricted for a long time - and I have seen vamps overuse it and it basically makes it no fun to play against them. At the end of the day this game has to be fun for everybody, and if something one person does takes away from other peoples fun then sooner or later that person will be playing on their own. I think the current Imm staff have recognised this, and are doing quite a lot to try and avoid the situation where 1 - 3 players have a ton of fun, and nobody else does because those three have worked together to set things up in their favour. mya
Hum Vamp skills.... Bah!!! All vamps should be striped of skills and given dispel evil. Now that would be fair. I think that i know what you are speaking about. The Vamp-Cleric PK killer. Not that it actually kills me, it just kills PK as i portal away to undo it. It's quite overpowering, and should have a timer the length of Malform weapon. Or drain, nothing like making the Vamp drained from using this thing. Or slowed, yes slowed.... And blind, i like blind. While we are at it add Shrink, faerie fire, weaken and ... CHANGE SEX!!! I bet some of you would like that, wouldn't you Uhril? All in the name of better play. Haa on the matter of imm attention. I rarely attract their attention. But when i do, i am able to listen to them, state that i do not agree, but that i shall follow as they say. Now really, if some skill is to be restricted in it's use due to RP, put a timer on it. There are few RP reason to spam something. This way Code will ensure that the skill is used more sparingly. A timer or a penalty, like resurrection/request/squid-shock. CURSE!!! Forgot curse.
jibber
I'm sure this 'skill' is being worked on, as far as timer, etc. Then again, I'm unsure if the IMM staff want to bog other Vampires down because one abused the skill in no RP manner at all. Regardless, as we all know this staff likes to put in 20-30 changes in at a time, not one every other day. Would get kinda tiring having to re-build the .o's everytime you changed something, and then rebooting. So hopefully, soon, we'll see a change where this has been looked at
