All gone. A DK is my favorite class, but it just got to be too much getting destroyed constantly and barely being able to scratch anyone. My will was just crushed. Think I deleted around 0-30.

Thanks to the IMM that let me into syndicate knowing full well I didn't belong there.

Also, thanks to those that tried to help me in one way or another. Especially Mara, you know why.

------------

Now, what next. Eshaine recommended a neutral in warmaster to learn with. I may go that route. I need something that can stand up to abuse a bit better. My only concern with another melee/hybrid is that I'll be going moderate, and I'm worried I'll gimp myself too much. I usually use real basic rares which hurts.

I dunno, maybe I should just forget cabals for a while.

Cabals provide one of the faster ways to learn - but the price is you MUST fight. Syndicate isn't the easiest cabal to learn in either due to a few things.

WM or Nexus are probably good cabals. Moderate has some good advantages - I'm unsure of exact rare limits but is you ask about you can probably find the stronger pieces of non-rare gear to assist.

Hang with it - I didn't get to meet Arthix but sounds like you had a good time. Don't worry about the PK record - numbers aren't what is important ;-)

What a pity. You had such an interesting character. :(

You should not delete characters on principle. You could always make a come back, when you had the knowledge.

Anyhow, for you make a Drow Cleric Discord (Demon God).

This is a Combo that used to PK right out of a full loot (dead), naked with a rusty iron shield. And get kills.

Trust me this is the combo for you.

Recall at wish, Most part of Offensive damage not dependent of Equipment.

Sanctuary, no more carrying 5 Ankhs.

Cure blind/poison/Plague.

Aff/Mal/Mental spells.

Not ignorable Meele.

Good finishing skills. Path-Poison-Plague-Curse.

Earthquake for area spell.

Divine intervention and Holy Hands - Best combo for clerics.

Identify to learn equipment. That is something you will need to learn, and make a Database in a .txt document.

I will even teach you what eq to look for and some easy weapons for you. :)

Perhaps I will even give you a Weapon... ;)

If you wanna go WM, go human zerk/warrior. Really nice PK range(human warrior will rarely fight at a level disadvantage), bonus with magic, reasonably fast leveling/training.

Go path of anger for zerk, maybe staff or exotic for warrior. Neutral will give you access to quite a few decent non-rares. While good gives you request, and an even nicer PK range, and evil gives you 'cooler' gear.

Mya: Was thinking about it. Just logged on to find 3/6 players were clerics...bleh.

Corpse: my worry with warriors is the eq dependence and slot restrictions. Being able to hold 4 rares with 2 of them probably sanc items will leave me with just 4 weapon choices. I had this same problem with my dk. I was never able to get good enough weapons. Clerics would out melee me. I think I'd be in the same boat. Thought zerks weren't very newbie friendly.

hehe, its been awhile..

I am back to playing again took about a month off and back to the same basic mistakes I made before..

As a person that plays and loves clerics and refuses to play them how they are supposed to be played because I want to become good at the way I like to play them.. Make one and try it, you will learn alot about everything and can go almost anywhere alone if you take your time.. they are very fun offensively and defensively. You can walk around and find different items/weapons and make a file or two to remind you of what does what for when you have other chars.. I thinking its the easiest class to learn the lands and items with..

Thanks for the help earlier, sorry we never got that whip for you..

Play what you wanna play. Zerks are fun for the massive damage output. With haymaker and headbutt, you can make fighting you no fun as a c/c. Get a big-*** polearm/axe and chop those warrior/ranger weapons into bits.

Melees have equipment dependency, c/c takes more skill(generally). Melees will teach you how to re-equip-No locating, so you'll learn better non-rare stuff to grab and go. C/C will teach you where the best healing items are(provided you can't heal), as well as get you a HUGE identify file.

In any case, roll something up that sounds fun. Come up with an RP, then a class/race. Invest yourself in your character and you'll most likely have more fun in the long run.

If wish to play a more 'friendly' type of melee I invite you to join the Warmaster Gladiators - they are a little more 'user friendly' than normal type melees (provided you want to deal with cabal duties). A neutral (as someone suggested) is probably a good idea as you can rank with more people and/or don't have goods/evils attacking you because you look like their ex etc.

Lytholm.

PS - a ranger is also probably a bit more 'friendly' than a warrior due to a few more 'options' during combat and the camoflage ability. They are an extrememly robust class (which is why they are so popular). They also make excellent Gladiators ;-)

I started my FL career with a bout 8 wars all in a row. Those eight warriors in the first year taught me more about tactics, consumables, eq choices, weapon choices than any other experiences I have had.

Neutral Mino Gladiator warrior

Neutral Ogre Barbarian warrior (teaches you that you can take alot of pain, but can still win)

Invokers are an amazingly powerful class with VERY low EQ dependancy. And they do not require alot of training, but are VERY Pk viable

Feral Ranger for ease of use. These things are like cruise control.

Things I do not recommend: Ninjas, Necros, Zerks, Battlemages.

All of t hese require above average knowledge of areas, as well as a good grasp on how people are going to fight you. Neutral will give you the best hunting range, and widest group selection.

I have different opinion. Personally I do not like gladiators. The neat skills aside (since barb have such as well) the only *real* advantage is that they do not have to gather sources of sanctuary. Having that in mind, if you count the many disadvantages they have, it is not really worthy, unless you are playing certain combos, most of which are not newbie friendly at all.

If you want to learn, I will advice you to go warmaster though. That is the cabal that turns worms into titans. Forged via hundreds battles and challanges, if you manage to go through the extremely diffucult first stages till you reach T, you would become much more - knowledge and powerwise.

If you want a class that is not that much EQ dependant, I would advice blademasters. Either neutral dwarf or halfling (at the moment a halfling would be the better choice).

Good luck, if you need any advices feel free to PM me.

I liked Arthix' date='because when I attacked him he instead of running stood up there and fought me even of my great advantage.I was so careful with you not to screw you up and rage delete.Very sad to see you go.[/quote']

I greatly appreciated all of you that fell under this category. The ones I fought and saw to it to leave my things and give a piece or two of advice.

"Mya: Was thinking about it. Just logged on to find 3/6 players were clerics...bleh."

And there is a reason for that. Clerics can stand up to all classes. Some with more ease, other with less.

The reason I told told you a Cleric, is because it will cover all your newbie Weakness.

- Lack of EQ knowledge. This is critical for a Meele.

- Lack of Knowledge of how to protect yourself vs certain skills/spells.

(For example what saves do you need to avoid Energy Drain ?)

- Plenty of space of maneuver in case you do make mistakes. Cure Critical, cure blind, plague.

Worry not about other Clerics, you can beat them.

I have seen a newbie join Syndicate with a Duergar Discord and be quite successful. Or even better, Reaver Nexus. You get access to Unholy powers.

Exelent for an experienced player, as it covers your offensive lacks, with cabal powers.

If you do go Warmaster, chose a Neutral Ranger. Perhaps one of those WereBeasts, or Stone Giant. Ogre is probably a bit to hard for newbie. Don't know, i don't like rangers much.
