Polk
thought we were talking about a good cleric here?
Polk
also, let me get something straight here... As a good aligned cleric vs. an evil aligned cleric, basicly I get a better chance to get away, and he gets a better chance to hold the opponent? I get a portal, which don't get me wrong seems nice and all, thinking of spots I could put it, but just don't seem balanced considering he can lag an opponent for 4-5 rounds!? That just seems a bit extreme compared to portal. Also, he gets earthquake, and I get Turn undead is it? Well its nice against undeads, but it really doesn't affect anything else, ofcourse earthquake doesn't affect anyone thats flying period, I don't quite get the balance in the two classes. Deykari
Having played neither good or evil clerics to fifty, I can't give any truly accurate info (in terms of playing them) however as a good cleric, if you're cursed, you can still portal to safety (I believe). Also, a tactic with goods is to place your portal point at your enemy recall spot. When they word/quaff a recall, you portal straight there and catch them with their hefty recall lag from fighting then recalling. Both skills can be used for offensive and defensive purposes although I see portal as much more defensive and minister as much more offensive. As for the earthquake/turn undead thing, your main damage spell as a good cleric (when you get it) is going to be ray of truth, likewise for evil clerics, path of deceit. Although evil clerics can use earthquake to bring hiding/camoed ones out of cover, good clerics still can use faerie fog, which in some situations could actually be more useful (as they won't be able to hide again and you won't start combat with anyone else who happens to be in the area) however in others, earthquake might be helpful (the opening damage being enough to kill them as opposed to them running when fogged, or the fact that even when you cast faerie fog, it's not guaranteed to land..). In my experience, I've found that although turn undead works against a limited group of players/mobs, the effects of it are much greater than earthquake. Warpnow
Sorry, I was under the impression we were trying to get people to roll chars that would pk at 50, but apparently we are worried how well they own at 30. /Sarcasm Seriously, though, who gives a **** how it does at 30? Its not like they're easy to kill, so its just run and rank.
