Just got back from Thailand, epic 32 days of fun, traveling, and all that good stuff.

I was reading this book while I was away and it inspired me to make a Knight, rolled up the character I wanted to play logged on and saw there was like 2-3 knights on, which cabal needs more people? aside warmaster..

That can definitely be a problem. Depending on the class, I usually stop around 15-20 to train most defenses, if not all (except those not yet gained) then move on to @ 35 and master pretty much everything else. This is where I will also master weapons, as for with warriors and other melee classes, they will have there third/fourth attack by this point and it will help raise the proficiency there while you gain weapon profs. Pretty much the same for spell slingers too.

Oh, and btw, I am back too. I took a bit of a hiatus (which meant giving up on a character I was pretty excited about, but I will go back to that combo another time) I am currently working on something that if the imms allow it, should be very interesting.

I train all my chars fully only to get stuck in gay situations or trust alil too much like nah this person wont attack/loot me and have it happen, after the first con is gone I lose faith in the char but play for the simple fact that I fully traind it and sometimes I condeath swiftly and make another.. Where as before I would have 5-6 different pins three in different cabals juggling them..:P

I dunno what to do anymore, anything but clerics seem like too much work and I get really angry when things go bad on other chars, clerics recover easier and can get revenge faster.. :o

Training can make a huge diference.

Not if you are a Newbie.

But if you are a very experienced player with the the Combo/Class.

For example a Fully trained Cleric (HolyHands,D.I.,Calm,Cancelation,armor:p) works very diferent from an untrained Cleric.

This are thing that are mostly useless for newbie, like the time you can stay in battle after XYZ happens, or putting that armor up mid PK.

Or just missing that Steel Wall, and being lagged for 2 rounds. Lossing Time and Mana.

All this small things count for experienced players that normaly "shave" things very thin.

Newbies on other hand is mostly a I rule or i get ruled PK.

I once mastered armor on a Rank 30 Invocker because, i lost a PK due to Armor keep failing. I got extremely angry about it.

Make an Elf Blademaster.

Stop with the Dwarf Blademasters nonsense.

Most of you would be better as a Elven Blademaster. Just like Mhalador back when Blademasters got in. I remenber hunting with his Elven Blademaster in the Centaur Camp. Now those were the days. Everyone was comming to try to PK him i think. Can't recall it that well.

Blademasters are one of the most balanced classes IMO, at least in terms of the races that can be them. Dwarves, Duergars, Halflings, Slith, Elves, Drow, Feral, Human, Undead. All very potent in their own way. Even gnomes and half-elves are viable I think. Not many classes can boast such a broad playability with the same success rates.

I do not like unfair mechanics.

Like landing spells with no save checks.

Blademasters can poison me disregarding my saves.

Rangers arrows do the same.

Mindflayer also does something close to it.

That is what i do not like. I like Blademasters. Just not their skillset mechanics.

Did i mention disarming cursed weapons ?

And I do not like players who consider only their own well being while completely ignoring balance.

1. Critical strike goes through your AC, not saves. There is still counter.

2. Arrows can be blocked with the already mentioned scroll.

3. Blademasters stance strictly says that they can disarm ANY weapon. If you don't want it to on the ground though, look for the correct curse (nodrop, NOT norem).

They can only poison people who they have expert and more anatomy in, that leaves the majority out. (also a great incentive not to play the "uber races"). I also think the whole concept of disarming cursed weapons is questionable...but at least they can only do it from one stance which offers no other benefits and leaves them vulnerable to things they wouldnt normally be in other stances. That can also be avoided easily by either not spamming commands and not fighting blind, so if it does happen you can just get your weapon.
