Quick question

Does anyone other than me think the undead skill is a bit too much?

Seems like you have crossed swords with the new undead BMG as well? :P

On topic though - how can anyone possibly escape after being undead skilled? Answer is simple - you can't, unless the undead doesn't really wanna give a chase (that excluding the magical means of traveling).

[edit] And yes, I know some races are imune to it, but just because some are, doesn't mean it has to completely screw everyone else.

Just my personal opinion.

hahaha, this reminds me of that undead necro with three bashing titan sized zombies... good times... that being said, probably best brought up in prayer, i GUARANTEE you if they think it needs balancing they will address it, at the very least they will look into it. I have a tendency to act like a child when i think something is a bit much and they still have helped me quite a bit in prayer, i didn't always got the response i wanted but i did always get a dedicated staff that looked into it and did what they felt was best for the game.

I did it just last night, so perhaps you just need to learn to run better.

Regardless, undead have huge, glaring weaknesses that anyone (at least, anyone not evil ;)) can exploit.

Escaping is easy, running away not that easy, but still possible. Fighting him though... unless you are one of his banes, well good luck.

Huge? GLARING? It ain't any bigger than the feral vuln and ferals have much MUCH less comparing to them. I know they are a Qrace, but come now...

If logging out is your best option for survival against anything in this game' date=' that seems to imply it should not be that way. (I'm not saying this is the case in this situation) Also, getting the jump on undead does not mean they can't still use said option and get away easily.[/quote']

It is AN option. Some things are powerful when combined, creating more of an uphill battle than some classes already have.

Jumping an undead might make them think twice. Taking advantage of their vuln (you've never seen a healer's wrath until you're an undead) is easier for some classes, but widely available to every class in the game.

As the player of a vampire, I find this humoring. You've got it oh so much better then a vampire in a very similar situation, ten fold better. I have expressed my concern in that regard on prayer (for quite some time now ~6 months) and as of now there has been no changes so I do not expect any action in regard to the undead ability.

At least there is a means for YOU to protect yourself against it.

I could explain further, but most of you should already be aware, and its probably one of those 'not to be discussed' topics.

If there **REALLY** is a way to protect yourself against it, then I see no problem with the skill. I myself though, do not know of such way.

Running away is what I was referring to. And perhaps you've forgotten that fighting a qrace is supposed to be hard?

In a lot of ways, I wouldn't say that undead have all that much more than ferals. Regardless of stats and skills, you're forgetting that unlike ferals, undead have natural enemies that will be hunting them down, and many of those enemies are specifically designed around killing them (paladins, good clerics and healers are all wonderful at doing so, as are Stalkers). A feral gets to, for the most part, choose his enemies - an undead does not. That's a huge decrease in the difficulty of playing one.

Feral and undead are not on a level playing field. They shouldn't be. Undead's a lot harder, so it should be stronger.

The undeads have one skill and you people whine about it? It's not the skill that beats you up, it's the combo. An undead battlemage is a killing machine that is too hard to get. Even exploiting the weakness does not mean you can do anything against it. No melee can beat it. Perhaps a cleric...or a healer. Yep the healer is the right choice. Go roll a healer and beat the crap out of it. Stop whining about something that has been there forever.

Moderate ranger = run the hell away. then come back swinging! I went at him with full pets, a full range of spells, a rod of stars and a dagger of divin, shooting my nasty arrows, and barely scratched him! He's a hell of a player, and the undead skill is just a bonus that he doesn't really need to whip us.

Just do what I do! I grew to hate syndicate, so I made one. Hate undead? Make one.
