tassinvegeta
Well I hate to do this. But I am going to either have to shelve or stop playing Gaddfrey. I made this decision after the opponents I've faced and realized the flaws of the berserker. After seeing some of the new changes to zerks i.e. being able to relax out of combat allowing further use of regeneration between rounds, path of fury allowing an improved power grip to assist against those heavy melee classes that zerks have trouble with I decided to roll one. I've had little chance against too many of the classes out there. And most of my success was dependent on one skill, being 'haymaker.' it sucks when facing certain classes like warriors, rangers, and blademasters I'd dispel there sanctuary and they keep out meleeing me because I can could hardly hit them. After facing Vaskynra I finally was able to gain the wares, saves, and avatarness to stand up to him. Even with my most powerful avatar powers, knight powers, rage, holy weapon and gear, I could not out melee him and doubt if I changed my strategy to one of attrition I'd do any better. Due to my saves I was able to negate his sear a bit, dispel magic, and mals for a bit. He dispelled my sanc once and I managed to get back into sanc before an unsanced round past. He also took quite a few rounds trying to thunderclap me. Luckily I am immune to the paralyze of his qskill everyone is complaining about, but he is also immune to my most powerful of skills. A skill that is crucial to to beating a bmg as a zerk. My mistakes were as follows. I could have used another norem magical weapon instead of the mundane norem one I had to use since he was using reflective shield. But gear is very rare now and many times he has used another shield that does not reflect nonmagic dmg. I wasted at least six rounds haymakering before remembering they couldn't be haymakered. But would those six rounds have mattered if I dirt kicked or used the new T knight skill (probably my most effective) alternate moves instead when I only brought him to big and nasty wounds? I truly doubt it. After much thinking and analyzing this situation as well as the many others from previous battles I realized that the zerk class still requires quite a few adjustments to make them more balanced in light of the other classes. This is coming from my current skill in pk which of course is not the end all of all arguments in the name of balance. I am very very very grateful for the chance to become an avatar as it was my first one after all this time. I apologize to Haesireph if I disappointed. I definitely am not one to just delete the class after a few deaths, I'm sure it can be seen that from the beating I had to take when I first got to 50 as well as my previous dedications with all my non demon dks . I just wish I had rolled a more solid class rather than a zerk to become an avatar maybe another warrior instead . On another note I am also nearly done with my Naval service so I should be able to devote more time to this game without having to take so many breaks due to deployments or deaths due to the lag from playing in third world countries. Many times I'd have to return to a character that went uncaballed and rare less due to inactivity. Not to mention the difficulty of getting back into the rp of a character I haven't played in months. Here is a shoutout to many of my good friends and nemesis I look forward to seeing every time I come back to fl. Oh and I cannot say thank you enough for the embrace and tackle change Zhokril esp the tackle one . It plagued me for years knowing that something is wrong with the skill but no one would believe me and nothing was done about it. However I'd like to point out that there still may be another slight flaw in the skill where the recent fix might've missed.
Imoutgoodbye
Major props. I remember my Drexmer telling Gaddfrey where he could stick it because I was hunting with an evil and he wanted me to join his group. Most goods came looking for a fight against my little neutral when that happened. You just kept trying to persuade me. You almost did, too. I enjoyed our brief interaction. Not what I was used to from a Purity fella. Keep it cool.
Sandbox
Loved this character. Can't wait to see your next. I think zerks will always be a touchy subject, I for one do not have the finesse to make one a powerhouse. He was scary and I enjoyed getting my butt kicked by him while i waited for that darn cane to come back into circulation lol.
Helsieve
I knew you as an angry ogre yelling fiend at people and then trying to run them through. Just what I want to see from a Purity follower.

The-Nameless
Well played. Even while fighting you with Zix, I was reminded of your FG zerk when I played my human blm Dreckys (Ages ago, marti was around). The only clues I had that it was you was your wicked fast ability to get through zones, both when chasing and running. My last fight with you was very close for you once, and very close for me once. Damn sad to see you go. Good luck with your next Tassin. We are about due for a mean *** DK again man. You know what to do. Sandbox
What i love about Tassin is that he doesn't jump on the cabal bandwagon. I always seem to see him playing in an underdog cabal or doing well and a bandwagon tends to follow him.

mya
Because mana lock doens't stop haymaker. Strange, I always thought that any Battlemage could use Mana Lock to protect his spells from Hay-maker. That they gave up Lag protection for Dispel protection. If they can be Haymakered thought Mana Lock, this should be changed.

The-Nameless
Strange' date=' I always thought that [b']any Battlemage could use Mana Lock to protect his spells from Hay-maker. That they gave up Lag protection for Dispel protection. If they can be Haymakered thought Mana Lock, this should be changed. Why do you always want to improve casters chances of surviving a fight Mya. Haymaker is not the same as dispel magic, it works differently. read the help file for manalock It is designed to prevent arcane means of dispel magic. I am fairly confident it does stop thief antimagic, cause that is a dispel.

I always seem to see him playing in an underdog cabal or doing well and a bandwagon tends to follow him. Great props for joining Knight when you did!! Even if it was an avatar ogre But it isn't like you didn't have the odds stacked against you anyways I just regret that you were always so busy when we were both online that I never got a chance to RP with you! As for haymaker and manalock...I'd have to put my vote for keeping it so haymaker goes through it. If not, I really can't imagine how a zerk would ever kill a good bmg. In fact, I still can't really. I still remember how Svenik one rounded you when we were hunting in the pentagram and you attacking him by mistake due to rage I liked Gaddfrey a lot. jibber
Well, I've never really had much of a problem with dominating with any berserker, caballed or not. I guess it seriously depends on what the player is willing to use as far as equipment and how they play the class. With that said, manalock does not stop haymaker. Just so you all know. I think I played my share of battlemages and berserkers to know!
