tassinvegeta
I loved my old fire zerk Athaniel, I played him as a well educated scholar, it gave me a reason to play my character. I also enjoy seeing certain racial stereotypes being rp'd, it creates a deeper feel for the environment I choose to play in. Yet if I play a dumb giant which I have done in the past I feel my rp to be self limiting, mindless, and emptier. I can never do certain things to the extent that I want to. I understand making suggestions to some of these players but you're trying to force your way of thinking down other peoples throat. Something I don't agree with. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree as usual.
Nekky
Yes, it is possible for some races to have detailed back stories that describe why they are not typical for their race. I think the trend in FL is that everyone is the exception to the race, rather than the norm. When everyone is the exception, the actual statistics and realities of the race lose meaning. Pali
I firmly believe a fire giant cleric/shaman would be slightly smarter than your average FG' date=' but that would make all the other FG's a point or two or more under the max of 15.[/quote'] Strong faith does not require one to be intelligent. Pali
Clerics/shamans do not use magic. They call on their gods to intervene through communing. EDIT: I would find a Savant intelligence minimum an interesting concept though... but then, I've never liked that dks and vamps (which use magic through casting) were removed from Savant and clerics/shamans/healers allowed in. megayeah
I still think this post is pointless. You should RP your charecter as you like. Sure there are some things in the storyline you cannot overcome, but wasn't there one implementor called ESHAINE that said that with RP you can do anything? Imoutgoodbye
I applaud emotes in PK, Nameless, but I'll never use them again, unless they're on a purely RP based character. Solely because they do cause small amounts of lag that add up over time. However, altering speech patterns and out of PK aliases, macros, triggers, etc...to enhance rather than forcibly alter by code, is the best thing in the world. Cheers to freedom and this wonderful look at RP and stats. I truly believe sometimes people forget they have the intangibles.
f0xx
Think he's referring to there dedication to magic rather than faith. Arcane magic (invokers) is different than divine magic (clerics). Invokers test their spells, they mix different ingredients most of the time to get the right effect. While clerics just pray, "Smite thee!", and God smites them You do need a high level of inteligence for the use of arcane magic.

Sandbox
Yea i'm getting tired of the halflings that play like paladins, i've seen about 5 of these "murder every evil in sight" halflings recently... really destroys the lore of the class when everyone just finds ways to turn their character into zealots. zzz. its been fun. The funny thing is i get more silent pks and shady kills from goodies and avatars then i get from evils these days. i bet if we did a poll of goods in the game 99% would be good chaotic followers of iremeru(sp?) The-Nameless
I still think this post is pointless. You should RP your charecter as you like. Sure there are some things in the storyline you cannot overcome' date=' but wasn't there one implementor called ESHAINE that said that with RP you can do anything? [/quote'] You can do anything with RP, like an FG DK, BUT when you fail to rp the character in game, and start playing yourself, megayeah, you end up with 100 or so wasted hours because megayeah just killed himself, not modeus. You ever wonder why Deykari never rage deletes? Because his characters would not do it so they don't, I am sure there are more than a few times he wanted to rage delete Heiqen, but he stuck to his rp, which was unique, yet fully possible in the scope of humans. You say this post is pointless Megayeah, thats fine, but that is 100% not helpful, basically your taking every person who put a constructive post in this thread, and told them "**** you, your opinion does not mean ****. I am not gonna change. I will continue to play as I am, and I will only say something is wrong when it immediately affects me. Like when I get multi killed for OOC reasons. You of all people should be seeing the suggestions in this post and liking them. Modeus was slain for alot of OOC reasons. Personally I knew two things about you in game. #1 you where lawful, because I am the one who raided town when you died to a raider. #2 you where a fire giant, and I was a feral. I was absolutely dying to get to know you on a more personal level because of that right there. We where real opposites. Huge, flaming () slow lawman and I am a combustable chaotic syndicate. I had no OOC hate or malice for you. Same with Gladea. The point of this post is not to stifle anyone's rp. But if you are circumventing game mechanics just to suit yourself then you are in the wrong. An example. If my rp involves a purist, elitist noble type who has a superiority complex, and is out to slay evil. Well chances are thats gonna be an elf, or a human. Those characteristics fit best into those two races. Now if I want to push a sense of urgency, and act brash. I would select human given that their lifespan is less than an elf, so their actions would seem more rushed, and drastic than an elf who lives indefinately. So I, as a player, cannot find a way to make that type of RP fit on say a halfling. Some people might work their way into it, but it is always going to be an oddball of the race, so then why would they recall to the shire? All things ARE possible, but every character you make should not be justified by the fact that you can do anything with anyone. Try making some chars that fit the racial stereotypes very well. You will see that it enriches you. People say it stifles rp to be put into molds. Hogwash, it stifles your ooc actions to be forced to think in a way other than your own. You know what, if you don't want goodies after you, then roll neutral ffs and stop whining... You actively seek to PK everyone out there in your range and then you complain that a goodie kills your evil. Jeez. It is really starting to get old for you to moan every time you get killed. The-Nameless
Ignorance is bliss... Yes, it is. Thats why a halfling ( who has lower stats mentally than an elf) is going to be cheery, and merry in comparison to an elf. Same guild, same cabal, same choices. THe halfling just has reasons to be happy because he does not have reasons to be depressed. I agree with Eshaine.
