ajwetton
I haven't played a bard since before Sirant Died, were they revamped? Also I have noticed that instruments are drawn. Does that violate the laws for sheathing? or is it only if you play an attacking song. there are a few that really have no point cept for RP purposes and it would suck to not be able to RP with them in Town. Magick
Instruments drawn break laws for sheathing? Nope. Only the agressive songs. Else holding wands would nail you too. Or some potions. And all mages or crossbreeds would get hit for area attack spells before they're cast.
Iyorvin
Well, you actually WIELD an instrument, while you only HOLD a wand. A jerk Tribunal will/can want you for the instrument being out, some have. Bards were revamped completely, they are actually a good foe now if they are trained properly. Magick
I know Iyorvin. I did say that. The point was when it's in your hand, you can 'zap so-and-so' and initiate comabt. The potential is there. Can't zap anyone when the wand is in your inventory, since you can't sheath it. A mage 'wields' magick on a constant baisis, but you can't (and more oft won't) silence yourself (without help from a dark-knight, etc). I'm not exactly sure what happens in combat when a bard has the 'weapon of musical destruction' in their hand, though. To be absolutely anal, I'm sure they can/will flag you wanted for 'wielding' an instrument. When I was Justice, if it wasn't a proper weapon, you were fine. Icor
Sereniel and two other bards got tagged when they wouldn't sheath their harmonicas. A lot of instruments are wielded, which is why finding the ones you hold is a good goal.
Deykari
Unless you want to be the rebel bard, minstrel without a cause. Dey
mya
I find this disturbing. Why would a Tribune Warant someone because of an Instrument... Tribune warrant Blademasters and other doublesheather who cannot sheath a weapon without drawing another.

I don't think the players behind the tribunals are douches, it's just their RP.
aaa
its really a simple mechanic, whenever is says they can want you, whenever is says they cant. Its just when a tribune looks at you and see its wielded they get a big red message saying WEAPON IS DRAWN!!! :edit: Funny enough, when a thief or blademaster is doublesheathing the weapon drawn message isn't given. Thus leading me to believe it isn't againest the law to do so. According to game mechanics.
Elfrosto
Back on topic.. I haven't seen many bards lately, you never will because they are stereotyped as a 'poor' pk class. I've seen some bards kick *** though, there's a good pk log here on the forum of a bard whippin some ***. It's like ANY character. You can have the baddest combo in the game, but if you suck, it doesn't matter. Or you can have the weakest combo, and PWN if you are a good player. Bards are like any class in our wonderful world of Aabrahan. In the right hands, they can be devastating monsters. In the wrong hands, they are nothing but a practice dummy.
