brsingr
what type of socket does it use? not for programming, just to integrate it into a circuit. just like... this? http://cgi.ebay.com/10-pcs-8-pin-8pin-DIP-IC-Sockets-Adaptor-Solder-Type_W0QQitemZ260521992674QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca85221e2 i promise all these questions will end up with something awesome and i will share it with you guys
killalou
Huh? Are you asking what socket you want to use for the IC? Generally these adapaters and the pins of an IC came in a standard size. Taking a look at the datasheet for this IC I see it has 8 pins arranged in 2X4 formation. You just need to find a 2X4 adapter and it should work. If you want to get nit-picky you would want to first determine what type of package this IC has when you buy it (Dual-Inline, SOIC, ect.). Then you want to go back to the manual, and find the dimensions of the IC with the appropriate packaging. From there you want to get the length, width, and the diameter of the pins. Next find any old 2X4 IC through-hole socket with the same length, width, and the diameter of the holes match the pin diameter. This is all assuming you are using through-hole chip/socket (these have pins that protrude out). If it's surface mount the steps are the same...basically if you get a surface mount/through-hole chip, make sure you get a surface mount/through-hole socket.
