Deykari
Are you kidding me when you say people have connections that let them run from Val Miran Centre to Rheydin Centre in 1.95 seconds?! I don't think I have ever seen someone run that fast in-game ever.. Dey
Raargant
Movement in MUD already has a built in 'minimum' lag. So a person with perfect (1) ping and a person with about 150-200 ping, will move at approximately the same speed.
Deykari
Thought as much. Still hope for 56king Tribunal-wannabes then. Dey
F-3000
So a person with perfect (1) ping and a person with about 150-200 ping' date=' will move at approximately the same speed.[/quote'] Viri said that one game cycle is about 50ms, between (lagless) things that happen in the game (moving, speaking, etc). Yet I am not aware of possible code changes, or if he peed on my eye. [Edit] He didn't pee me on the eye, I just should read better. Built-in movement lag. Besides, I must correct myself, for I just checked the ping... Aproximal average ping for me isn't 175 anymore, it's 230. Now I know why I seem so sluggish with fleeing/chasing... Packets out/in/bad = 400/400/0/ min/avg/max = 199/231/863 Besides, I think that "0ms" is even better ping than 1ms... (LAN) [Edit]Thus, running from Val CQ to Rhey CQ takes minimum of 7,8 seconds, while for me it takes 9 seconds. That second sometimes means death for me. Still it sucks to be me. [Edit] Looks like my ISP is forked up... worst ping I got to my ISP was 275ms... (when doing several trace/route) Yet, if FL's server would be in europe, I would have ping around avg 45ms... *sigh*

-Totenkopf-
Stop your bitching Try being from Australia, not seeing under 250ms and at this point in time on a 256kbit connection with at least 2 other users on it at all times. goes from 250 to 700 regularly. I've somewhat put to rest my main char for the time being (hopefully have net at home soon enough). Only really jump on that one when I know I wont be expecting huge lag spikes.
