CurbsideProphet
Who gives a **** Well clearly some people do, but the original post was more along the lines of: Flaymhon=Flameon! Teehee. Not: This kind of SH*T needs to stop!!! Personally, I think names that have very visible references (intended or not) are silly and take away from the RP-feel of the game. That's it. The rest is up to the Imms. I've had far more obscure names force-changed while more obvious ones were permitted to pass. I recall a pk log with someone named Sithmord (mordsith). :-)
H&R
Yes, Sithmord was my char. But for your information, I had never heard of the sword of truth series. I came up with the name by combining sith (from star wars) and mord (swedish for murder). Great minds think alike, eh?
Ali_gmud
I had a elf crusader that got level 45 named Elcid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Cid many lols, I did the story campaign in Age of Empires 2 and that inspired me to make that character. Names, are bleh - it's more funny than anything.

[/quote'] haha that would be the last name I'd think was unintentionally referential. very nice :-P just a personal opinion though. before finding this mud i was looking for a game that was different from a lot of the mindless other games out there. one of the ways I judged muds was literally logging on to see what kind of names people had. if i saw names like Jedidonkey or Pwnsauruman, I would immediately discredit it and goto the next on the list. jibber
Haharha..haar. Here at the Forsaken Lands we ask our players to have a believable fantasy name. This name should be one would be given to an individual at birth. It should not be a jumble of letters. There are no known tongue, no matter which race, that has their name as just a jumble of letters. Some criteria to think about regarding names: * Is it a word found in the dictionary? * Is it a combination of two names/words? * Is it a well-known name? We also encourage our players to choose a name that is not well known. After all, you are given the chance to create a character with his/her own life, with his/her own story to tell. It is a great opportunity and we encourage you to use it to its full potential.
inscribed
that name is fine. there's plenty of names both past and present that could be mispronounced to sound like something else.
