EtsoShex
but I've returned to whatever we call this double-life. For what it's worth, it's a pleasure being back. I've only had a tight fistful of characters that I was even mildly interested with, and even then only a double-handful of characters total. The ones I'd had were almost entirely RP, with no PK, if I could help it. As I am now eager to learn how to PK, I have become totally enveloped into the character I've made. How do you feel about PK and RP?
f0xx
Welcome back. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or anyone else you like. Croyvern
Wb. Rp and pk go best in a nice mix, makes the most interesting characters. Its OK to lose at PK, It is not ok to lose at RP. Everyone starts out having trouble with PK, for some it takes longer to learn, do NOT let your limited PK experience keep you from playing ever. Many players are honestly the **** in PK, and you will be years trying to win against some of them. I figured out the only way to win sometimes is to keep throwing yourself into the mix, MIX, thats right, if this combo of skills gets you killed, try a different combination the next time. Eventually you will win, and likely because they are expecting you to come with the same ol tactic. Welcome back, good luck, and we will see you in game. And I am a FAN of RP! So I guess I am one of yours. Side note about pk.... Everyone knows to fight your own fight, not the aggressors, but they give chase right? We all know certain areas better than others, learn to use areas you know well to fight people. A good circle in the woods can be more priceless than a bag of consumables. mya
Welcome back. I recall your name from way back. Anyway, roll something. Clerics are very good for RP/PK mix. So are rangers. Invokers are easy to PK with, and straight forward in strategies. Elf/Drow clerics are the best. Elf/Drow/Avian invokers are also pretty easy. Avian DK's if you feel up to a challenge, but the 50ths are trouble for them. Elven Paladins are also very good. Ogre rangers are one of the most powerful combos out there. Stay away from Shamans, Blademasters and Necromancers and you will do fine. Also we now have a Moderate Tier (blue <PK> colour) where enemies can only take 2 rares from your corpse, and they cannot attack you again for a long period. Good for Dwarven Clerics and the sort. Grishnak
Stay away from Shamans, Blademasters and Necromancers and you will do fine. Two of those three are quite possibly the most powerful non-quest classes out there (maybe aside from Battlemage). They aren't the easiest classes, but if it's someone who has played before, even in a non-pk capacity, I say go for it. That said, add monk to that list (less of a peak, just as hard or harder to train/learn to play).
mya
Yes, Shamans and Blade-masters are the two most powerful non-quest classes in the PK department. Along with Monks and Battlemages, they are the least EQ dependent classes, out there. The only problem is that the skills that you learn with them do not transfer well to other classes, as each of them has unique mechanics and strategies. Blademasters require that you know quite a lot about other classes (predict) and the mechanics of the game (criticals). Shamans win fight, not by dealing more damage than your opponent but by stacking spells on him until he looks like a Christmas tree. Then he rots slowly away. Shamans also have the problem of being complete wimps in combat, so they are awful for exploring. Clerics are gods at this (exploration). Expecialy if you are a Drow Dicord Cleric, or a Dwarf Combat. Elf combat is also pretty insane in PK, as the previous two.

Blms, Bmgs, and Monks are extremely powerful, but they are like drag racing cars. Sure you can blow people away with awe inspiring power, but you can also hit a wall at 180 and explode too. Easily. Kyzarius
Invoker is the least eq dependant class to play. One staff is all you need. Thats it. No way, Cleric. Invokers need consumables and gear for survivability. A cleric with a spell and a shield can tear up.

Croyvern
Croyvern' date=' what's up with your long one paragraph posts lately? [/quote'] LOL, been alone out here on the hill for over a week, no time to play, no one to talk to but myself. If not for the forum to record my thoughts this week I likely would have gone crazy. My apologies for being so long winded, and for posting this since its "off issue". Nice to know someone was reading it all however.
mya
There is no such spell as chain lightning... Invocker without saves is going to get dispeled and Blinded or Poison/Plagued. Sure you can drop my Cleric HP, but lets see how you do when you are blinded and have no Gyvel or you are Plagued....
