Wow! That is that. She is an oldie, started about 15 months ago. The score sheet I'm putting up is the one right before I sacced my equipment (to exchange it for RP equipment) for the Lloth plot summoning ritual.

Gold. Kaylia got around 50 million gold during her lifetime. Anything more than 30 million is moot as you need to carry itself (bank limit is 30 million). A Warmaster that laglocked me at the Tribunal altar got to pick up about 12 million from my smoking corpse. What to do with all that gold? Well, fail to buy Orelinde of course!--grumble.

Achievements/RP. Kaylia was involved in SOOOO much RP in her life. I had a really long text file saving everything UNTIL my harddrive was lost around New Years. Without that file, I wasn't able to remember all the names and plots and I guess most of them fizzled. I can't give shoutouts. So many people and so many things. Many of them were lowbies that never made it to pinn.

I think Kaylia is a good example that if you work towards something RP-wise, you will eventually get it, even if you have to wait a really long time. The Lloth religion was put into the game (I give credit to Ulystryyx for this!), got a new temple and a new secret shrine put in, planned and executed (with a lot of IMM help) a massive RP plot, and of course, became the richest person in the history of the world.

Something I really wanted to explain about Kaylia OOC is that she was NOT a follower of Greed. She was Guile before she changed to Lloth. Her 'obsession' with money was just a cover to keep people away from her more sinister goals. First and foremost, Kaylia was a survivalist and pragmatist and she did everything she could to keep herself alive as long as possible, right until the religious craze started to set in.

After that, she just wanted to succeed in getting Lloth into Aabahran, even so far as ignoring her intuition and personal limitations (A rogue trying a major summoning? That isn't going to go well!) which directly led to her failure. Psychologically, in success or failure, she was more than ready to die at that point.

After she failed the plot, she was changed into a demon ninja (melee only). Originally, I had planned to continue the character past this point, but I decided to give it up. Why? I guess I was completely burnt out on her. I felt like I had finally done everything I tried to do (minus the Lloth tattoo--denied!).

PK-wise, I was getting really tired of playing a mostly uncompetitive character who had to resort to assassinate to kill anyone strong. I just didn't want to continue playing a ninja, even a special melee one---if I wanted that game, I could roll a demon/giant warrior or something. I really have been wanting to move onto something that could stand up in normal fights against people. I guess many of you have already met my new character.

Ninja. This is a big topic for me. Assassinate...Kaylia was lotus scourge, not falcon eye. After EXTENSIVELY playing a 75% assassinate-only ninja, I can say that I think assassinate should go or needs major tweaking. If, for some reason, assassinate does stay, it should be made into STEALTH only. I never did the flee/study game, but I know it could be done and fairly easily at that. Study should require the full 5 ticks (no stopping at one or two ticks to meditate) and if the ninja is engaged AT ALL, they should lose the study.

But honestly, I think assassinate should just go. Ninjas should be buffed into maledictive rogues (think on the line of caltraps/nerve/shadowstrike) if given some lag protection and a few spells (I think some PSI-illusion spells would be nice here).

Lotus scourge? Never found a use for it at all even after a lot of experimentation. Actually, it hurt me quite a bit because many times, ninja don't want their opponents poisoned, and so many people are immune/resistant to poison anyways. Normal poison is more than enough. Doublesheath is much, much better in more cases I think. If lotus scourge could plague or something, now that might be interesting.

RP-plots...wow, that was SO hard to do. If you guys could take a look at some of threads in the prayer forum, wow, wow. I don't know how many hours I put into planning for this stuff and how, ultimately, anti-climatic it all seemed. We really need to improve our capacity for RP the game. It is just too difficult to do very much. Like another thread said, if you can't PK who is logged in, you are pretty much forced to logout.

We really need to make some viable alternative things to do in the game at pinn. There just isn't anything else to do and PK (usually one-on-one) takes precedence over anything. Even on the verge of the summoning, I couldn't organize myself because an ultra-aggressive tribunal was pounding down my door while I tried to RP with people (which is exactly what is expected of him). Army warfare has been brought up before. Crafts are another option. I have a list in an old thread of mine...

Kaylia's luckiest break? Philantees joining Syndicate. If she had joined any other cabal (and stayed as long as she did), Kaylia would have been dead in her tracks early in her career. Kaylia's unluckiest break? Getting killed by Gruudik after failing a strangle. Kaylia was fully prepped and Gruudik was completely unprepped, but a SINGLE green dragon bash lagged for 5 rounds and Kaylia was dead.

Kaylia was also the name of my 1.0 JUSTICE crusader who I rage-deleted due to constant assassinations. Originally, I stole the name from a player on a different MUD that I used to respect.

Just like a previous char of mine (Sachi), Kaylia always looked to the stars. Kaylia was sucked up into them via a rift during the summoning, changed into a demon (kind of drider), but could not support the body and perished back down on the mortal plane.

I'll be the first to admit, I had no idea it was you.

Granted, your characters and mine never seem to interact much (or you do a better job of hiding who you play than I thought), and so I don't really know your style. Admittedly, I didn't even know you were still playing, at this point.

However, all that said, what a phenomenal character! The only character I ever really interacted with you on was Andrella, and even that was not much. The only real PK interaction we had was when I tried to jump you in the Tainted Valley, and you got away.

Other than that, I can only go off of what I hear. And what I hear is that you were a baller. So props on a character very well done, and I look forward to your next. :-)

Great character Celerity. Was an honor to serve by you for so long. Yes, there need to be something more to do. I had expressed my... boredom/waivering enthusiasm to you on numerous occassions. Having a strong/powerhouse/scary character is all well and good, until you find yourself with noone to interact with. This is why I always wondered why Valkynsra was also so aggressive.

Haven't rolled a new character yet. Haven't felt the need. Lots of other things to keep me occupied in life at the moment. I hope that our paths might cross again in the future, you are a great asset to this MUD.

What a character. I'm sad that I never got to meet you in demon form though, as I was really looking forward to it. I mean, a demon ninja, how awesome isn't that? I know I am responsible for one of those deaths, which makes me proud You were the scariest char around. You pretty much always knew where I was, because of your cabal, and you were always hiding (damnit!). Until I found out that heads were locatable, you seemed to assassinate me over and over

Having interacted with your characters since your Fire Giant Justice, D... something (sorry I forgot) I have picked up on certain things that you tend to do as a player, which lead me to figure out that you played Kaylia way back when I rolled up a drow ninja. After a good rp session where we were discussing Lloth (this character did not worship Lloth, but was afraid to indicate that to you, not sure if you picked up on it) and I noticed the similarity in social mannerisms and the way she carried herself. Major, major kudos on the character, always enjoy your creations, and look forward to trying to figure out what your current is.

Was the demon intentional? I had a reasonable expectation to be turned into one yes, but realistically thinking, there just wasn't any way that was going to work out well for me, at least in terms of PK.

Absolutely not, everyone has mannerisms, we transpose mannerisms on our characters, the better and more naturally we do it, the more "real" our rp becomes. We essentially live through our character then, taking upon their views, crafting them as we see through the eyes of the character, the beliefs we have set up.

I would just like to add, I am fairly good at guessing who is who, which is more of a curse habbit, but I had absolutely no idea Kaylia was Celerity. Even though I was the biggest fan of her fire tribbie warrior, and I had a character which spent some time with Kaylia back in the day, I could still see nothing in common. Although I must admit I thought you quit playing and are just roaming the forums, I should know better I guess

PS. A few of my RL friends were guessing Kaylia was being played by Anume, which seemed reasonable back then, since she was WELL played.

A bit short-lived, IMO.

The name was first to grab my attention, since I recognized it from, well, an another MUD. Second to keep it was an extremely impressive, if not perfect manner with which Kaylia conducted the antics of a character of guile. This actually had me a bit jealous, as I felt outshined in that avenue of character core that I used to play years back. =P

Eventually, my elf at the time was reduced to building sand castles quite skillfully before I hopped into the military.

Hopefully the Hall of Fame will get some use now.

Great character. I had no idea you were playing Kaylia. With regards to my experiences with you I remember getting you a couple times and that it was difficult for me to rp with a stealthy ninja like yourself that's always trying to assassinate me. You listed alot of good points and played a very successful character so hopefully it'll have some merit to whom it counts. Once again excellent character and am looking forward to what you come up with next.

It was fun to rp with you, I was playing Glybart, Human invoker that was accidently transported to Aabraham. You showed me that spider thing that you did and that was cool. Then you gave me a quest to do which was fun but I could not finish cause RL issues and had to drop him . But it was really fun talking to you and trying to figure more about you and trying to do what you wanted me to do.
