Imoutgoodbye
Last November Ronnie James Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He began treatments immediately and as of earlier this year (despite a few hiccups between Christmas and New Years with blood clots), Dio's tumor had shrunk quite well to the aggressive treatments he was receiving. On May 15th, rumors began to fly that Dio had died in the hospital after taking a turn for the worse. These rumors are untrue. However, Dio is not doing well. It's uncertain if he'll make it through the next week. Channel 39 News Dio Chemo Interview

Croyvern
"Today my heart is broken," Wendy Dio wrote on the singer's site, adding he died at 7:45 a.m. "Many, many friends and family were able to say their private goodbyes before he peacefully passed away. "Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all," Wendy Dio continued. "We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us ... Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever." The statement was confirmed by Los Angeles publicist Maureen O'Connor. Imoutgoodbye
Ronnie James Dio July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010 In the misty morning, on the edge of time We've lost the rising sun, a final sign As the misty morning rolls away to die Reaching for the stars, we blind the sky We sailed across the air before we learned to fly We thought that it could never end We'd glide above the ground before we learned to run, run Now it seems our world has come undone Oh they say that it's over And it just had to be Ooh they say that it's over We're lost children of the sea, oh We made the mountains shake with laughter as we played Hiding in our corner of the world Then we did the demon dance and rushed to nevermore Threw away the key and locked the door -Children of the Sea, Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath if you prefer) It was only ten years ago I first knew Ronnie James Dio. You see, I had torn my ACL and was laying in my bed when a friend gave me the Heaven and Hell album as a birthday present. I tossed it in and to my surprise heard not Ozzy, but Dio. I then began snapping up everything Dio I could find. The lyrics to his songs were amazing and his voice, that heavenly voice, made the songs all that much greater. I'll miss waiting for the next Dio album. \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/
