This place keeps dragging me back every few years - just wanted to say thanks to all of the immortals and players past and present who've kept it going. The new two-tier PK system definitely looks like it can make the game more fun for the less hardcore of us. :)

We no longer tell people go PK someone. To keep it more realistic we now say go find something to complain about.

Pfft, that's what you do. And the complaint usually is something along the lines of, "Oh, that's such an OP combo."

No matter what you play, there will always be someone telling you that you are playing an OP combo ;)

Gnome Rangers are SICK.

Now that they lost they Vuln to Blunt damage and have Ogre like HP due to massive trains. Not to mention fast learning and Infravision.

Racial hometown that is quite hard to get, and no one knows about.

And what other race has the most used polearm in the game just outside their recall point?

Add massive mana for Call Lightning and the Power of Archery and you got a sick combo.

A good thing they cannot be Avatar or we would be all doomed.

Ok... let me just obliterate mya's post. Tarandue is about 15 seconds from the single most common hometown. Rangers can use polearms? Interesting... Getting bashed into next Thursday or dispelled by a sneeze also don't strike me as a good time...

I will forever stand by the fact that gnomes really are pipe smoking badasses. Mental vuln pff. When your an invoker with 1k hp and 1600 mana you can dispel me all you want. I will flee, and reset. They also make these badass things called saves. Apparently they can help reduce the effectivity of magic. So I might try some of these out.

Actually, tarandue is like 3 seconds from the most common hometown :)

You know I bow down at the Nameless Altar on the daily...but she was talking about gnome rangers hombre. Getting those mental saves is really going to hamper that whole hit/dam thing rangers seem to thrive on, its not like the maxed str and dex of a gnome is worth more than a tiny bit of hit/dam stark naked.

I think a gnome ranger archer could probably do quite well actually. Better than any other gnome melee anyway.

Quite well compared to gnome melees is still piss poor compared to basically everyone else in the melee world and not even worth considering compared to gnome casters.
