Bert
Cabal left today and sacrificed rares. I've completely lost all desire to play him and didn't feel right hanging on when there were people waiting to get in. He was made to allow me the ability to log in, pick a challenge, fight and log out again when my playtime was very low. It worked well, but I learned that I don't have the spine for training them. The skills I could deal with, but the anatomies... My God, that is nuts. I asked for sparring sessions countless times but never had much luck. I want to thank all of you that offered support in game. Ironically, the DKs that challenged me frequently were actually the most helpful with suggestions and throwing equipment my way. Zovaek traded me something?, for a fire lance I held almost the entire time. I wish I had gotten the chance to see what T skills were like as many said it would make a big difference. Also, I never did figure out how to take down a communer which I wanted to do. Think I went 0-11 vs communers. My saves always suck, rare I ever have anything better than -10. Not sure what to make now. I've got about a week to train something before my playtime nosedives again. /---------------\/----------------------------------------------\ | Barenwick || Gladiator of GLADIATOR | \---------------/\----------------------------------------------/ | Str: 17(17)^2 || Level: 50 Sex: M Age : 59(151h) | | Int: 17(17) || Class: blademaster Ethos: chaotic | | Wis: 21(21) || Race : halfling Align: neutral | | Dex: 25(25)^1 || Hp : 815/815 Exp : 47520/603680 | | Con: 17(17) || Mana : 487/522 | \ Lck: [||||--] \/ Move : 399/403 +Hit: 27 +Dam: 11 / /---------------/\------------------/\--------------------------\ | ARMOR || SAVES || Deity : Lytholm | | Slash : -66 || Spell : -6 || Faith : Combat | | Pierce: -69 || Afflictive : 0 || Weight: 121/305 | | Blunt : -69 || Maledictive: -4 || Items : 31/41 | | Magic : -34 || Mental : -2 || Prac : 5 Train: 1 | | Weapon: low || Pos: left || Gold : 8178 CP: 1.2k | \---------------\/------------------\/--------------------------/ / Condition: You have a few cuts and bruises. \ | Anatomy :Mob Human Elf Dwarf DemiHum Giant Beast Flying Uniqu | | 62 100 110 95 85 120 100 68 69 | | You are ready for a cabal promotion. | | [WARMASTER] forces are aiding your feet and stamina. | Level 1: dagger 100 sword 100 parry 100 recall 100 anatomy 100 Level 2: polearm 100 Level 3: spear 100 Level 4: onslaught 100 Level 5: doublesheath 75 critical strike 100 Level 6: footwork 100 Level 8: hand to hand 100 blind fighting 100 Level 10: double grip 100 two handed 100 Level 11: disarm 100 Level 12: chop 100 Level 13: fast healing 100 haggle 87 Level 14: meditation 100 Level 15: acupuncture 86 Level 16: trip 100 lore 1 Level 17: charge 86 Level 18: counter 94 Level 20: dodge 100 Level 22: bladework 100 powerstrike 100 Level 24: balance 89 Level 25: bladerush 93 Level 27: vigil 77 Level 28: twin counter 100 Level 29: predict 100 Level 30: dual parry 100 Level 32: battle stance 100 Level 33: elf expert 100 Level 39: backpin 85 Level 41: snakespeed 78 Level 42: deathstrike 95 Level 43: flying expert 100 Level 44: pinwheel 84 Level 46: avatar of steel 85 Level 48: spellkiller 100 Level 50: giant master 100 \---------------------------------------------------------------/

My saves always suck, rare I ever have anything better than -10. Too heavy. Been there, Can't seem to carry the extra armors to switch into. If you plan for spellcasters, you get warriors. As a WM you needed both and with that strength it wasn't there. Sad to see this one go, I actually thought he was one to go far.
Peras
Chaotic neutral? That's gutsy. I wish we'd been able to interact more to see that alignment alone. I've had one chaotic neutral character ever, and I don't know if I'll ever make another. It was tons of fun, but it was really difficult to get right. As for the other aspects, we had I believe a total of one interaction. It was kind of fun, but I would've liked to have more. I can understand losing feeling for a character and a desire to play said character. Hopefully your next will go better.
Bert
 Dude... I really appreciated all the advice you gave. I went over and over it trying to put it all together. I did improve in a few areas I think, just not in the ones I really wanted to.

Bleh, I had some sort of RP for him at creation and completely lost it amongst the endless hours of training anatomies, so it was pretty much non-existent. You have great RP abilities. My RP is even worse than my PK.
Peras
Yeah, training, collecting consumables, finding gear, you can really lose your RP to that. I've been having to fight pretty hard recently not to lose mine. It's all a matter of reminding myself that the RP is the most important thing to me, so I shouldn't let PK prevent it from happening. If I lose my RP, the character's dead, and I don't like playing multiple characters at once.
Imoutgoodbye
Live and learn my friend, live and learn. Personally I prefer dwarf blademasters any day. Throw 'em away if you want. Just make sure you learned and got what you wanted in the end.

Too bad about barenwick : / I think Zet helped you on some anatomy once in a while. Props to you man- I couldnt play a blade master yet lol Waiting for the next. Implementor Anume Posted September 20, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted September 20, 2010 You'd have gotten T in the near future if you already fullfilled the requirements (type cabal promotion to see next time you are caballed). Not sure you had enough challenges yet.

I sincerely hope you didn't leave because you didn't get T.[/quote'] Nah. But that was one of my regrets.. not being able to see what it was like. This was my second cabal experience, and my first doesn't really count since it was extremely short lived. Newb DK in syndicate was a bad bad decision. The hopes of getting T did get me to push onward through a lot of frustration though. I really wanted to see what it was like. If the cabal wasn't full I'd have stuck around a lot longer. I just didn't feel right having people waiting for a spot when my heart wasn't completely in it.

Not sure you had enough challenges yet. Eh? Requirements? I thought getting to T was based solely on IMM discretion? I simply attributed my lack of promotion to my inability to PK very well and shaky RP. Am I missing something?
Imoutgoodbye
And yet the Reverend hears your heart. There is regret. Anguish. Remorse. Unfinished business. Come give me a hug and let the healing process begin....we'll get Anume in here...it can be a group hug.... And with that, I'll stop inundating the forums for the night and head home for homework. Good luck with your next project, Bert. EDIT: Warmasters have to complete so many challenges to advance. I think it's 10 per rank, but I never made it past M. Implementor Anume Posted September 20, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted September 20, 2010 Many cabals have minimum requirements beside hours played, for WMs that is challenges. Cabal promotion will tell you how many you still need. It is up to the cabal imm to promote you earlier if you really shine, however this will rarely be done. Just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly... I sure hope not. If I just resigned and could have achieved a goal I had set I'm going to be horribly unhappy. Implementor Anume Posted September 20, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted September 20, 2010 Automatic promos happen till V. You need the cabal Imm to promote you to T. Still this will not happen in most cases if you have not fulfilled the minimum requirements yet.

Shouldn't I have seen something? I know I did the first two promotions I got. You've got to be kidding me... mother ******. How is that possible? I've been waiting and waiting and checking. Zavero
Gladiator of GLADIATOR I told you that you were Trusted. It doesn't tell you when you get promoted. You just have to pay attention to when you log in and it says something like, "Welcome Barenwick Gladiator of Warmaster" or something of that nature. Look at the damn score you posted. It says you are trusted. Gladiator is trusted rank of warmaster.
