mya
Flying races (not magical flight) should also receive a lag-reduction bonus. I'm pretty sure avians do' date=' not sure about faeries - I'm gonna guess not based on recent activity.[/quote'] "[06/01/09]: Bash properly takes avians into consideration" Viri did something when we complained that Faerie Thieves died the moment they missed a blackjack on a Laging class. Someone argued that since Faeries were flying, they should be harder to bash. Viri apparently liked it and said he coded something for all autoflight races. Faeries and Avians. mmajunkie
Mya there is a straight.forward bash chance reduction. You don't need mounted combat to receive.it Avians also.have a.coded advantage. I don't recall fae getting.it
Croyvern
So we are now comparing regular races with Qraces? Yep' date=' sounds like a valid argument![/quote']I was not trying to bash Masokant with a regular class. So my char was on the same play field. My point was it is not a bashing issue that removed these races from the respective classes. Demons are Large, and harder to bash, yet were not removed. SO the last four pages of posts placing bashability as the prime reason why they should not exist is, to me, ridiculous.
Balgashang
One thing I have always thought though, that I think would even out an op'dness on a storm paladin, is make vuln weapons actually hit the vulns w/o needing to throw the weapon, for the vuln damage. Same with elves/drow.
mmajunkie
I'd agree the point of having a vuln without having quality weapons to hit those vulns is a little useless.
Balgashang
Its not even the quality level, imo, i can think of a couple ****ty vuln weapons, yet, they do nothing, unless thrown. I mean, in some ways I guess not being able to touch the eq counts, but like, ferals, fire giants, they really take damage from thier vuln all the time. I mean, two equal dressed warriors dwielding daggers, equal skill, stormie using the iciciles is going to own the fire/feral using the storms vuln, because it just doesn't work...kinda pointless to have the vuln, in my opinion. I mean, I know storm giant players are just raging behind thier screens when they can't wear that awesome oaken faceplate. I mean, I can think of maybe one weapon at 50 a storm giant might want to use that they can't. I can think of more eq at 50 that a fire giant would want to wear, but can't, not real sure about ferals, cause I haven't played one.
f0xx
I'd agree the point of having a vuln without having quality weapons to hit those vulns is a little useless. Its not just that. No evil can really hit a drow vuln too
Pali
SO the last four pages of posts placing bashability as the prime reason why they should not exist is' date=' to me, ridiculous.[/quote'] We were talking about paladins. So far as I know, we don't have demon paladins.

mya
Mya there is a straight.forward bash chance reduction. You don't need mounted combat to receive.it Avians also.have a.coded advantage. I don't recall fae getting.it Let's talk about the operator && in C. This is the operator that translates as AND. If you have a IF statement that checks something that has && like "IF A && B then X else Y", then it means that both A and B must be true for the X to happen, else Y will happen. Even if A is true but B is false, Y will happen. http://docs.hp.com/en/B3901-90003/ch05s10.html "if (won_lottery || (enough_vacation &&money_saved))" Here is an example. This IF happens if either "won_lottery is true OR "enough_vacation" AND "money_saved" are BOTH true. PS: Yes, I know "IF A && B then X else Y" is not very well formatted but it's just an example. Also there is this nice operator ! that negates things. For example !MYA would mean that anything NOT MYA would be true. (I think.)

mmajunkie
What does that have to do with Avians and not faeries getting the coded bonus? Or mounted people who are not paladins getting a bonus?
mya
How do you know there is a bonus? If it's from your personal experience playing the game, then nothing, else relevant. PS: This is all about Mounted, not Faeries.
mya
My Green Dragon bashed him pretty good. Green Dragons are evil. Kyzarius
I am confused (nothing new) I was always under the impression that without mounted combat, it is best to NOT be mounted when in battle.
f0xx
I am confused (nothing new) I was always under the impression that without mounted combat, it is best to NOT be mounted when in battle. Lets put it this way... being mounted in combat without having mounted combat has its ups and downs Basicly you WANT to be mounted against a bash happy character and you DON'T want to be mounted against a mage or someome who can't bash. Also, if you have protective shield you don't want ot be mounted at all
