Duergars and Dwarves, Win races!

The whole storm and fire discussion got me thinking, well again, about a much better one. This one makes a little more sense, cause I just don't see giants as being Paladins or Dark Knights. I huge dumb warrior/cleric or a huge dumb burning dark knight, I dunno. Those two I thought of as being more cunning, I guess. Then again, there are giant clerics so...

Here it is though! Duerg Dark Knights and Dwarf Paladins! I only think of these cause I've seen, read, and thought about both. Certainly the lore would go with them but I know, OP as hell right?

Thoughts?

Not overpowering. Solid ? Yes. OP not really.

Dwarves Paladins would create a synergy of vulnerability.

Thieves and Ninjas. There is little you can do versus them, either as a Paladin or as a Dwarf.

They would probably get ~1200 HP and ~700 mana.

For a physical melee it would be the same as fighting a Human Paladin with a bit more HP.

Mages would be the ones facing a very hard challenge.

Duergar DK's.

Duergar's are a joke compared to Dwarves.

They would not break 1000 HP and would have ~600 mana.

Sure the magic resistance helps, but with thieves... good luck. You are going to get pried naked, and having meaningful discussions with your Warlock every-time you enter town.

Bottom line.

Yes powerful, but so is a Water based backstab :P

Duergar dk couldn't have 1000 hp? Are you serious?

I can get a faerie and elf with over 1000 hp, any one here could get a duergar dk with over 1000 hp.

Dale dude, your faerie invoker uses mage EQ which happens to give HP.

DK needs melee EQ, which rarely gives HP.

That being siad, dwarf/DK can easily go above 1000 HP :)

Hell I've had more than 1000 HP and avian/human DKNs.

DKs don't generally equip in +HP equipment - most faeries and elves do. Shouldn't really compare them.

Giving any paladin magic resistance is, I think, a very bad idea. The extra str of a dwarf would open up a paladin's weapon selection a fair bit, and the extra hp at the very least compensates for the water vuln.

Letting duergar use magic is, again, something I have problems with from an RP perspective.

Come on, you are Trolling Dale... :D

You know that I meant base HP.

Anyone can get 1000Hp with gear. In absurd Z could just code a +1000 HP gear.

The thing is, naked he will be short of it.

Again in normal circumstances. You *probably* can break it with very good rolls, 1 pracs, ALL trains into HP, quest HP, Quest Pracs into HP and Quest Trains into HP. And healthy perk.

**** this.

I'm hacking the mud, and inserting code to prevent HP higher than 999 in Duergar DK's, JUST to prove Dale wrong.

Or ... just do nothing. And bask in the certainty that there will never be a Duergar DK, negating any chance of one having 1000 Hp.

Man' date=' you guys are freakin nerds, she said duergars can't have, I simply stated could. And there is plenty of melee gear that raises hp, enough of it to have a beastly duergar dk with insane hit and dam.[/quote']

You, who plays a text based role-playing game, called someone a nerd? LMFAO! That's like a pile of **** telling a fart it stinks!
