jekyllvhyde
I heard something recently about people getting cold and shivering when their adrenaline is pumping, perhaps that's what it is. I get cold and shiver when I'm in the middle of pking. I was actually searching for my space heater today in between fighting to help with this. It doesn't help that it's pretty cold in Pennsylvania already. Hands shaking a bit doesn't help me type any better, go macros!
mmajunkie
It is super cold in my house here in Central, IL The "Shakes" you get in PK can usually be attributed to 2 things: 1) You're still new at it and intimidated by the whole process 2) The battle is a very important one/the outcome was important I get the shakes still sometimes from #2, but never during the battle, always after. I recently killed someone that to both my character/me personally was a big deal. When I killed him with only 40hp to spare I ran off to a hidey-hole and could feel my heart racing and hands shaking. The chasing, the fight, all of it...it took all I had to overcome him and when it was over and all that emotion/energy was still built up inside....it had to release itself somehow. I remember years ago getting the shakes IN pk too...it's just the nervousness of it all. It's do or die out there. If you win, great...but if you lose - you're gonna lose a whole lot more than you would have won. Fearing that your opponent may be better than you also contributes to that. But as you mature and get better, that will go away. Focus and speed is huge in PK...if you are too nervous or not confident, you can make some big mistakes. Kyzarius
When I first started playing here my heart owuld start to thump so hard and I would shake during PK. Now I get a rush, but its more focued and controled. The Rush from Pkills, the pure intensity is what keeps people coming back here over and over
Demiterracotta
It happened to me all the time on Ariana, but that could be those icestorms I was trying to swallow.... I read about cold stuff when I'm really focused and I get cold. Edit: I get the shakes real bad period, I just only got cold when reading about cold stuff happening to me. jekyllvhyde
Nah, it's nothing to do with being new. I started mudding about 13 years ago, was around when abandoned realms first developed cabals. It's always been like that, I guess my adrenaline just gets going easy. To me every fight is important, no matter what char I'm on or who I'm fighting. My favorite fights have been against the people who are hard to kill like cariousus, martineus, dedric, etc. I even fought Gorath forever ago, that one didn't turn out so well. But I don't think this is something that will ever go away, but I've taken measures to ensure it doesn't effect my pking, like wearing a jacket hehe. You'd be surprised how little typing I actually have to do in game, everything is the keypad, f keys and super short aliases.

mya
The good old PK shakes. Those are normally hard on newbies, but as you play more they tend do be less severe, as you manage to keep your head cool and confidence high. I think they are related to adrenaline discharges (old fight or flight response), which totally screws PK as you tend to lose your fine motor skills making correct typing quite hard. If you ever misspelled "C word" three times in a row then you know what I am talking about. I hardly ever get them now. Unless someone gets the drop on me (surprise), as this creates a physiological effect akin to Terror/Panic that is extremely hard for me to overcome. On your particular case, I do not think that getting hotter will aid you. It certainly does not aids me, as I think with more clarity during cold weather. Also since the shivers are a physiological/Bio-chemical problem, getting warm should have no impact. Unless you PK naked in mid winter. Which reminds me, that someone should make a pool on how we mud/PK. (Cloths/Chair/Rituals)

Grim_Reefer
PKrattles is for noobs. I used to get it, then I was like, "Hey, getting pked isn't so bad.". As soon as I dropped the shakes, my pk game went way up.... until the past two years where all of a sudden I'm like the worst player. I need to roll something cool. jekyllvhyde
Well Grim Reefer, I have an old saying which most likely applies to you. "Friends don't let friends pk stoned". Learn it, love it, live it.
Ali_gmud
I call it 'the gmud rush' and I've never been able get over it as such. It's pretty bad sometimes, for example I was fighting this halfling thief named Hambelien (i think his name was) and he just pk'd my necromancer and I was very anxious to get him back, and I managed to the drop on him with a sleep + summon combo, got him into a room I was able to lock, after having him spelled up I attacked... in that moment I fell victim of a anxiety attack, first and only time ever has that happened to me, pins and needles filled my hands and right up to my elbows. This is the only game ever that has had that effect on me..... besides resident evil 2 when I was like, 10 years old.
