jekyllvhyde
So I just started dating this girl and she's really sweet, not too bright but really sweet. I haven't really dated anyone since my ex-wife and I split up last september. I'm really excited about it and just wanted to share with you guys. The-Nameless
best of luck. Let's hope she is not a yankees fan.
Implementor Anume Posted October 20, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted October 20, 2010 If your opinion is "not too bright but really sweet" that doesn't exactly sound like a good foundation for a longer lasting relationship.
Zavero
I have to agree with Anume on this one. The "not too bright" in the future can become a HUGE problem. At first you can tolerate it but soon it will come to bite you in the ***. Good luck either way.
-Totenkopf-
Yeah, have to agree, but that depends on what sort of person you are. I am very calculated and logical. My GF I would consider not so bright, most of the time it frustrates the hell out of me. If you think you can deal with this then sweet. I have been going for about 5 years now, but it is certainly to wear on my patience sometimes Oh, she likes to PRETEND she knows what she is talking about, which frustrates me even further, quite often I have to turn away and shake my head in shame. Croyvern
it could be that she is an idiot savant, and in time you will come to know that she may know little of the things you know about, and a LOT about things you do not. For instance, she might have worded a description of you in such a way as to make you sound better. Maybe your definition of bright, and actual intelligence, are not synonymous. Iron Ore is not as shiny as Gold, but Gold is too weak to make good weapons. Congratulations, and may fortune smile on you.

Mali
Yeah, you're mean. That's not a nice thing to say about someone. "So what do you think of that jekylvhyde guy?" "Well, he's not too bright, and kind of mean, but I like his style!"
Mudder
Who says he wants a long lasting relationship? The man is on the rebound. I say congrats for moving on and have fun!
Akoz
my gf is not the brightest in alot of things, like not even close. We however mesh well together and she lets me game w/e I want without syaing anything. We work well together Then again im an ***hole and deals with that too
jekyllvhyde
Wow, great responses. My ex wasn't exactly Ken Jennings either. I figure I'm smart enough for the both of us. I think the smart ones know better than to get involved with me

Hilltop
My wife is smart, but I just can't get her to understand a rpg. It can be text, graphic or dice and she will still dislike it then complain when I do it.

jekyllvhyde
No Yankees fans. Is she a yankees fan? Haha. Go Texas Rangers! That is until the phils finally start hitting and beat the San Francisco Sucks. I almost would like to see a ny/phillies world series again so we can have our revenge. Edit: Oh and this girl doesn't like or care about any sports...hmmm.
Grim_Reefer
You'll be see the Giants and the Rangers in the series.
Akoz
Rangers would eat the Giants lol Giants are a low scoring offence and rely on their pitcher, while the rangers boost the best pitcher the MLB and still have a nice @bat.
Ali_gmud
American girls in my experience are just the sweetest things ever, I've met four awesome girls on seperate occasions, all from Texas, all lovely, lovely lasses.
Demiterracotta
American girls in my experience are just the sweetest things ever' date=' I've met four awesome girls on seperate occasions, all from Texas, all lovely, lovely lasses.[/quote'] Is that because they left after a week? Girlfriends are tricky business, that's all I have to say. The longest relationship I've had was with the girl I liked the least. I couldn't bring myself to break her heart. And in the end if was WAY worse than it should have been. So if you see it going nowhere, lonely is better than scarring someone forever.

jekyllvhyde
She's really difficult to talk to, you have to like drag the conversation out of her. Then she was saying how the yankees won and the phillies lost...I said something bad about new york, forgetting she's from upstate new york and she got mean. Things should not be difficult starting out like this.
