Dark Knights and Paladins

So there I was drinking my coffee, minding my own thoughts, when an Idea so insane it made me choke hit me. After drying the coffee out of my mustache and beard, I started thinking, why is it such an crazy notion. Now, I do not play Dark Knights or Paladins, so I am bringing this to you all so that you can help me understand how and if it would work in FL.

See, I have read a lot about the need of neutral hybrids. What if we allowed lawful neutrals to become paladins, and chaotic neutrals to become dark knights. The skill set for a paladin supports a role play of Law and Order, and the skill set for a dark knight certainly supports the help files for chaotic neutrals.

Again, I do not play these classes often, but here is what I am thinking. It only affects two races, Human's and Half-elves. I would alter protection so that a neutral Paladin is protected from chaos, and a neutral dark knight is protected from law.

Oh, yes, its insane, I have a coffee stained shirt to prove it. But, maybe some of you who play these classes regularly could give me some insight as to why it would not work, or why you would support the Idea. Look forward to reading your thoughts.

lol...your brain slipped into D&D mode again.

The Ethos fits.

However, Paladins are the embodiment of good (Lawful only in D&D) and Dark Knights are the embodiment of evil (Lawful only for Black Guards, I think, in D&D which also has an anti-paladin class and a few other variatons...yes, I'm spanning 2nd and 3rd editions only here).

So, the whole allowing neutrals into these orders is a kick in the crotch of the guilds.
