Archbishop Monk
It matters because we all want to socialize' date=' if we didn't we'd be playing D&D by ourself somewhere. So when you come up with an rp it's not just for yourself, but you want others to interact and let the character grow. When they step on your idea without trying to understand it's them basically spitting on you.[/quote'] The point being, when do the complaints come? When he's sitting there talking or emoting about something? No. They come after he's been PKing along with his RP. A purity Sigil is still a purity follower. Evils around? Fine, then they would want to see them gone. My only point being just because you get some complaints about how you play your char, doesn't mean that there are not those IC that fully support and understand you. It's those people you shouldn't forget about. And unless an Imm or IMP steps in and says something to you, keep trucking unless what you're doing is against the rules. You'll find your nitch that way.
Croyvern
I would like to add. How did they know you were a Sigil? Were they using OOC information? If so SHAME on them. Personally, when someone comments on my subcabal on ANY character, my ussual response is I have no Idea what you are talking about. Example, some warmaster comments about some guy being a Mysterum, my comment "Oh? Why do you not tell me about these Mysterums since you are an expert." ^^^^^ this OOC mess ruins the illusion of our world and should be for lack of a better term or punishment, Slayed. Twinblades713
I would imagine any character prestigious enough to have a TITLE would be a commonly known member of a cabal, even subcabal. These are not secret things, unless the flag was hidden. Now what the subcabals DO, or stand for, might be a bit more ambiguous.
Balgashang
here's the way I look at it, if I can type help whatever and read about it, its common knowledge. When you join the cabal, help files usually expand, that stuff I consider to be trade secreats. Just a general rule for me, and I agree with Twinblades on the title. Croyvern
yeah, well sometimes I think RL would be easier if I could; whois (insert Politician here) But we can not. So to me using this game mechanic is OOC, and a poor tool. I would understand if my character has a title that mentions the subcabal, but this mechanic allows people to know every power available to you, if they are familiar with your cabals powers. Since they see your subcabal and rank. JMO it will not change my mind if you do not agree.
The-Nameless
Well you have to factor in we are not like random people here. We are celebrated heroes who have songs sang after us. We do things of legend. Tarandue could not kill Tiamat, but any of us can. They will recognize our legendary sword, our trusted warhorse, you could ask about Messalantha and know they lead the criminal underworld. Children where threatened with Kurvikhel if they did not go to bed without a fight.
Balgashang
I understand where your coming from, and in its purest sense, it is kinda poor. I was for just having sdescs visible in a room and a name only who list, but that wasn't a popular idea. But I figure in this type of mud, the who list/general helpfiles are common knowledge.
