The negativity associated with "moderate"

Often I hear people saying that moderate is for wimps, pansies and such. I just want to say that if you want to be a moderate, do it. Don't hold back just because some players scoff at it. This game is ultimately your experience so do it how you want.

In my opinion, the whole purpose of looting is, maybe I'm wrong, so that if you kill someone with better things than you, you can get them. So often though, looting is used for merely get 1. corpse sac 1. Most rage deletes probably come from this and not the actual death itself. I don't mind dying but sacrificing everything sort of ruins it for me.

If you kill someone and sacrifice all of their things I think that shows that you're afraid to fight them again on any kind of an even playing field.

Often people say, well I do it because other people do it to me. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Maybe some of you feel the same way as me. The ones who go sacrificing everything, don't complain when someone does it to you. I can honestly say I have NEVER in the history of playing FL ever done it to anyone. I take gold and pieces of eq that I need, that's it.

Sadly in a world as nerdy as this we are all going to have opinions, some of us will be opinionated. Personally I see nothing wrong with moderate. Honestly it is rare to have 8+ good useful rares anyway. Cabal re equip gives you a viable suit to PK with with good saves and hit/dam. I see very little reason why Moderate is not a great path combined with re equip

There are some nice 20+ avg dam weapons that are not rare. Moderate is better for many of our aging players, by the time most of you put the kids to bed and check the clock to see how long you can play before you absolutely must get some sleep, you come to realize you do not want to spend that whole hour and a half gathering eq every night in the week. With a moderate this does not happen. Thats the upside, downside is your not going to be king of the world. Everything in moderation means that you will view even power as something to stay moderate in. So you cant run the cabal, but you can PLAY. And face it, we come here to Play.

see I see no reason why moderates cannot go up and even get L. Really it is harder since your limiting your EQ heavily, and your ability to stifle tough opponents

Sorry, but they asked for it. If I go after someone, I expect to be treated the same, if I go after someone and defeat them, then my character will figure he does not need anything that character has. So I leave their things be. But thats just me.

I don't think I ever saw a list of how many rares each class was limited to? :confused:

On a side note, the reference to the weapons is just a nice odd piece of information thrown out. I for one appreciate any spreading of knowledge. And I know my place is on the moderate tier for a while...probably sans cabal since I don't have the time to keep myself in a cabal.

The rare count moderate tier characters can wear does not include weapons.

I would, but the formula has changed on carrying I think. Still testing the waters on this.

The limit on the number of rares for moderates is on the number worn. Although 50s can only quit out with 4 rares, so it doesn't make too much difference to make the distinction.

The rare limit for moderates depends on class.

I shudder to think of what happens when you mix Church, State, and Fantasy. Rev, Queen, and FL. The babies would cause instant server problems. By problems I mean all on board ram would explode, the processor would disable it's own cooling fan, then overclock itself til it burst into flames, and all drives would expel all SATA, and IDE cabals, vowing that they are only external drives, and "not the drives you are looking for"
