Man it is easy to get sucked back into this game after browsing the forums once.

I rolled something pretty underpowered, but was doing ok with it. Then I got reminded of Minotaur Charge and how if you need to flee you might as well just turn off your computer and go make a sandwich. Those who complained about it before, you are absolutely right, the lag from flee is enough for the mino to walk in and charge you again, and again, and again if you aren't dead yet.

Bye from Laence the two week wonder. Maybe I'll see you all again next year with another gimped char that can die in frustration to some Uber Combo or well thought out one trick pony.

Vanish? Then Lance was a Ninja.

I would say strangle him, then Blind.

A Mastered Vanish should be your only input after his charge.

As a non protective class vs a Giant, Lag is a thing you will always eat every day even if he was not a Minotaur.

He can just charge and bash like any other Giant Warrior.

This is why I don't play meeles. I don't like the mentality of stock piling Hit/Dam and then Spaming Bash. Nor the frustration of dieing to a Lag Lock.

PS: Roll a Battlemage, those can handle any class. And they can stand very well to Mino Charge. In fact all mages have something vs minocharge.

Invokers have Firestorm, and Necros have lagging pets.

Clerics/Shamans are the ones most affected by Mino charge.

Although some Clerics can handle it better, like Combat and Discord Clerics.

Also, I think AFF saves aids vs weapon paralysis. But not sure on that one.

PS: Now I am more sure. If you getting Paralysys from weapon, stack AFF saves.

There is only one one trick pony: Slay.

Other than that, as a ninja, it's your job to KILL melees. From the shadows. After they're strangled. ;)

By the way, in my experience, any combo can be uber in the right hands. If I play an uber combo, it just keeps me in the fight longer. Doesn't stop me from dying.

I had a huge problem with the fact it lags even if it is countered. Thats just broken because things like bash/bodyslam/trip wont lag if they are countered

EXCEPT mino charge, and they can just charge spam wielding a staff or arctron etc etc. Paralyze + charge is the gayest thing i have ever seen. And I have met Dale.

Seems to me it's only a problem when it actually leads to a death.

I took a really cheap death 20 mins ago because someone caught me not flying. Does that mean trip is OP?

It's not cheep death when you die. It's cheep when you die and there was not anything withing reasonable that you could do to prevent it.

I can smoke an herb/brandish a wand/stave to prevent that triplock. Might be my ignorance, but I never found the consumable that prevents chargelock. :( Help a brotha out.

1, sneak or mask your flee direction. Most "charge locks" occur when the minotaur sees the "SoAndSo flees " message. They can then use an action tied to the message that automatically enters the direction then charges, or just quickly enter it themselves since your flee tells them which way to go, they do not have to scan. If you can get rid of this message, then they have to scan to find you. The lag from scan, will give you enough time to run, unless of course they decide to just geuss and geuss lucky. Fighting in a room with one exit is bad news for the victim.

2, Flee, eat the charge as they come after you, then immediatly flee again. Minotaur charge lock can only occur if the Minotaur is lag free. Usually the Minotaur will sit there, waiting for you to flee rather than entering any commands. This way they can be free to chase and charge again (see #1). This only works once however if you..yourself..do not enter any commands other than to flee again.

3, in the case of the OP...dirt kick, then flee. He cant charge if blind.

Very typical. Someone lost to a tactic they don't understand or haven't quite figured out a way to beat with their chosen combo. Some jump on the bandwagon some don't. Soon the Imms use their magical erase marker eliminating another reason to play a class, dulling the game even more :( Guess Slinore should've just rolled the usual ogre warrior instead.

I hope so. Minotaur continuous charge through protective shield is ridicule.

Just like Mindflayers attacks bypassing defenses.

There was a reason Minotaurs were a Zerks class only.

Even Viri was not much confident when he made the change to allow warriors.

Mino warriors have to much defense and offense to lock protective shield classes.

On a cleric you have little chances to avoid it.

Either you engage first and eat the charge latter or,

eat the charge first (2 rounds lag), you opening command goes in (probably a spell, as you were trying to get first hit +1 round lag) and he flees and charges you before your spell lag ends.

5 rounds of meele, and you casted 1 spell and ate 2 mino charge damage.

And this is when they don't charge you and flee and charge you back without giving you time for any command to go through. Happened to me.
