Aulian
I should start a statistic about mya's posts. Posts in support of mages - 585 Random misleading posts - 352 Posts in support of melees - 0 Posts flaming alzheimer arthritic dwarven blademaster - 23 Posts flaming nymph hearts - 54 Posts flaming herbs - 31 Posts flaming consumables used by melees (glimmering staff mainly) - 44 and so on... I dont want to be funny, but that number there is going to be WAY higher. also, you're a ninja, you have the only 1 hit ko move in the game. You can hide and study him as he attacks your guard, as he walks through cities, hundreds of ways. Not only that but you have more then one tactic to beating his ***. Why flee all the time? Stay in combat and land the dirt? Then flee. Be enlarged so you wont eat the bash as badly. VANISH. Strangle and blind dust the bastard. If you're looking for sympathy you've come to the wrong place. Reccum
I know of no ways to make your flee direction masked unless you autosneak. Vanish pretty much never works when you are in combat. My vanish was at 105% and I never succeeded once while fighting. Blind is a great way to prevent charge locks, but against someone with triggers or who stays in one room and spams charge it is very hard to actually get a dirt off. And if you are in the position where you need to flee lagging yourself for 2 rounds is not the wisest move. Re: Tass. What do I not understand about unlimited charge + backcutter + a bashing pet? It is not a rocket sciece formula to success. Re: Aulian. I am not an assassination ninja. They have 5 selects for a reason no? It is also not very good Tribunal RP to hide around in cities studying people, or studying then while they capture your standard. THIS is why I give up in frustration because it is always Combo>EQ>RP. edited. If there is a problem, bring it to prayer. No flaming here. But I refuse to hide outside my cabal and study him because that is terrible RP. I do not think mino warriors are unbeatable by any stretch, but for certain combos (aka mine) they pretty much are. What it comes down to is how much fun am I having vs the amount of hours I need to put in to be at all successful. This is what usually makes me quit. I do not take looting well, like it really pisses me off!!! This is why I rolled a moderate once. Then when I started doing well I got gimped back to the stoneage. Fine. So if I want to be competitive I need to roll a ruthless. But I don't get pleasure out of full looting people, but I always get fulled. I also don't play power combo's, most of you do. Keep in mind that capping an outlaw is an auto fulloot unless the outlaw is moderate. So how can I actually get any pleasure from this game at 50 anymore? I keep getting caught in this vicious circle. I get an idea for a combo so I roll it up, then I get to 50 and join a cabal, then I do well for a while until I fall victim to some OP mechanic, then I flame and delete. I just don't think there is anything here for me anymore. If I could go back in time and be a noob again I might enjoy it more because I would have no expectations of success. I also believed in the RP enforcement back when I didn't know any better. If I could go back in time and convince the Imms not to render my moderate thief useless, I would do that. Realistically what are my options? If I want to have a winning pk record and not get harshly looted my only choice is to roll a powercombo and keep LI up 24/7. Unfortunately that is the opposite of fun for me. So maybe when the game has no more "win" buttons, and when EQ is not the be all end all of PK, I will return. Aulian
Some pretty good points in there.
jekyllvhyde
Indeed, Reccum I really liked your character. It is tough as a Tribunal to be a Ninja or Thief because you're out in the open. Now I also fought slinore and I managed to get away, maybe I was lucky. People, I don't get why if a minotaur is flee/charging you and you're getting messed up, why you hit flee? He's fleeing so you just need to hit a direction, not flee. Grim_Reefer
Why were you engaged in combat with a minotaur warrior as a ninja in the first place? I wouldn't go start a fight with Mike Tyson.
jekyllvhyde
Why were you engaged in combat with a minotaur warrior as a ninja in the first place? I wouldn't go start a fight with Mike Tyson. Ummm...He's a Tribunal, Slinore is an Outlaw/Watcher What is crazy though is he went and attacked Slinore's cabal trying to get his item. I wouldn't be going attacking cabals with a ninja unless I was trying to get my item back, not trying to take theirs. But that's just me.
Grim_Reefer
Right. Once again, why would a ninja expect to win toe to toe vs. a minotaur warrior?
f0xx
What I am more surprised about is, why didn't slinore simply bashlock him? Considering he has a titan sized bash happy charmie with him, that would have been the easier case for me. Oh well...
The-Nameless
I cant really disagree that some tactics are lame. BUT what I will say is usually people who take complaints to the open forum are: Angry people with stress management issues (no offense, you have a fuse that is .2 mm long) People who have not been here a long time. People who look at combo, not combos in action. As far as trigger mino charging, I find it gay. Chasing triggers are gay, charging triggers are gay. Macros are a big enough boost, but your turning on FL autopilot with charge macros. I want to see it abolished. Here is a tip. Start saying stuff. keep it IC but say like "What would you do if Laence fled to the east?" cause you know his charge is based on that. If someone is abusing triggers, show them why very few veteran players use combat triggers (even disarm/wield). Because someone will "loop" you. As far as you choosing not to study at the altar, that is your choice, so you cannot hold others to that standard. I suggest you log on type "outfit" get going. You get 61 lives for a reason. Your going to have instances where you lose all your gear in terrible ways. Dont let it stop you man. I am telling you now I was impressed from my interaction with Laence. If you quit over one loss perhaps you should ask for a bag of weed for christmas. Look at Grim after all. He dies all the time, he just hates us, not the game. Mindflayer
Suck it up and get back in the game please. You're in the strongest cabal right now and I'm sure once an outlaw is captured, you'll be right back on your feet.
Elfrosto
He dies all the time' date=' he just hates us, not the game.[/quote'] AMEN TO THAT.
Mmm Coffee
For as long as you have been playing here Reccum, you should know that there isn't a be-all, end-all combo. It's a big, complicated rock-paper-scissors match. One day you're the paper, they're the scissor...next you're the rock. I used to have a lot of the rage issues w/ full loots. Now, I just quietly log off and wait til I've calmed down...you should do the same cuz you're pretty good at PK and RP.

Dale
When at first you don't suceed try again. I've been back 4 months and I've had a miss or two already. Yet here I am still having a great time and even learning several new things.
Reccum
I know I have little to no fuse, and when I die and get looted hard I make a mountain out of a mole hill, this isn't a new thing for me as many of you have pointed out. Unfortunately I tend not to get back on a character once I've made a post like this. Despite the fact that it is just one loss to one character I just don't see myself getting back into Laence now. I take things that happen in a game WAY too seriously, it literally affected the entire rest of my night and day today. I don't know why I cannot shrug it off, perhaps it is my competitive nature and the demands for perfection I place on myself. Maybe it's a whole bunch of things combined... To whoever plays Slinore, I did not intend for this thread to come out bashing you personally and I am sorry if it makes you look bad in any way. I still think that flee needs less lag on it as I remember having similar problems against tribunal and their apprehend command. Dying when it feels like nothing can be done is just too frustrating for me. I am pondering rolling something new but it probably wont be for any cabal. Truth be told whenever I go through this kind of experience I feel like making a trash character to take out my frustrations on all of you. That's what my last thief started out to be anyway...who knows what will happen  edit: btw nameless, what you suggest with making peoples triggers go haywire is from my understanding completely against the rules. The-Nameless
Im not actually saying to say that in game I just could not think of an example. I remember I hunted with someone who had a get all.gold trigger so I ran around emerald dropp 1 gold 5 times per room and just led him around it. If my exploiting there triggers is against the rules then the triggers should be the problem, not me adapting to someones over dependance on a trigger
VileDeception98
I've been here for nearly three years now, and not once even with the power combos have i been on top pk wise or even rp wise. The game is just fun for me. You shouldn't let that kind of need rule your gaming experience. Just have fun with it man. I interacted with Laence several times, and loved the char, same for your moderate. Come back man don't let something so simple get you goin. But if you take off. you'll be missed.
