Mmm Coffee
If a DK charms a good-align mob and I am fighting that DK as a goodie and I kill that charmed mob, will I get damnation? It -almost- happened but I fled because I wasn't sure.
f0xx
No, the charm becomes evil while under charm effect.

The-Nameless
actually the mob wont change alignment til after charm has worn off the first time. I verified this by charming Torilar while he had his staff. The moment it wore off, it zapped him and he dropped it.
Implementor Anume Posted December 4, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted December 4, 2010 if u want to kill good as a good turn autoexp off and u will not loose 5k exp If this works it is a bug. Instead of abusing it you should have reported it on prayer. We will look into it.
Lytholm
if u want to kill good as a good turn autoexp off and u will not loose 5k exp Perhaps I'll just set you back to level 1 instead then....and zero your skills without giving practices back Lytholm. Dale
If this works it is a bug. Instead of abusing it you should have reported it on prayer. We will look into it. Actually I'm pretty sure that this isn't true.
Raargant
1) Charm immediately turns the mob evil (tested and confirmed). 2) Using an OOC command, autoexp (meant to help people not level up when they are training, usually for a lvl 30 qrace slot) to avoid IC punishment (-5000 xp, damnation) for something you did wrong IC is a bug. It will be removed.
jibber
Please don't remove autoexp just because one player abused it. I would go as far to say that you should change it so if you kill a goodie mob with autoexp, you LOSE a level.
Pali
Pretty sure he meant that the bug will be removed, not autoexp.

Mudder
Heck, the autoexp thing has been that way for ages. I honestly thought it was intentional. PKing as an Invoker before 50 is dangerous enough as it is when you have such few spells to take advantage of. EDIT: Goodie invoker.
KRins
So... we are going to leave an incredibly exploitable method of evils essentially turning off half of an invoker's spells. If we are going to make life that much worse on goods... I vote that evils shouldn't be able to summon good mobs. People just don't realize how damn terrible it can really be to be a goodie... Imoutgoodbye
I believe a good should get punished for killing another creature of the light. An evil invoker doesn't care what kind of destruction they wreak havoc on, displaying the full nightmare of what an invoker is. A good invoker takes care where to unleash the hellish extent of his holy power over nature. Senseless killing is not something he would take part in, especially when there are innocents nearby. Damnation is the least of his concerns. Even a war hardened veteran is haunted by the psychological damage of a small child getting hit by one of his flame arrows. KRins
I believe a good should get punished for killing another creature of the light. I agree... but evils already have advantages (and please please please spare me the "but they have to fight everyone." I know, so did you when you rolled your evil...) based solely on the equipment they have access to as well as goodies being forced into a smaller number of cabals than evils. It is completely counter-intuitive to me to take out a function (granted it is a bug) that provides the slightest bit of balance. It is easier to be in a "godsuit" as an evil based on superior equipment... and to win a PK/make a goodie look like a dick/just be plain annoying/force people to not fight you because they are unwilling to violate their RP or come at you half-cocked... all you need to do is spam c "summon" sapling? It seems entirely screwed to me. It makes almost as much sense to me as slaying an evil who gives away anything. I'm still wondering how the hell a tiny tree is considered good anyway... It acts strictly in its own interests. A tree will even kill other plants by casting them permanently in its shadow... sounds kinda evil to me. Imoutgoodbye
As an evil, yeah, I'll pull a small child in front of me. Summon one, too. However, if you want to screw someone with area spells, I can think of several nasty, nasty non-aggro mobs you can stand next to. Summon can't be used in combat, so, make them come to you. If they stand there next to a good-aligned mob, screw them. I never got nailed with damnation on my faerie invoker. And I played that back when it was very very very easy to just summon the snowflakes from elemental canyon. Favored mob back then. Now that I think about it, the snowflakes had their alignments changed. Hmmm.....now I've gotta think about it.
KRins
You know, I can definitely see you side of it Rev... and I am fairly biased towards the Light... but I find essentially halving someone's options with "now God will hate you if you do" different than "Now Nasty Mob X is going to snap off something unpleasant in your hindquarters if you do." I mean... what true follower of the light is going to let some nasty DK summon them as hostages when a paragon of all that is holy is trying so hard to rid us all of the scourge... you'd think they would notice. "hey DK Y just summoned me so our savior, InvokerDude, cannot fight him as effectively... I'll show him the errors of strengthening the Light's presence in this battle! *attack DK Y*"
Imoutgoodbye
Now you're onto something. Summoning a mob of the opposite alignment automatically causes that mob to attack the summoner? An easier fix than just continually changing the alignments. However, I'm glad you see the RP behind the hostage type situation.
