jekyllvhyde
Everytime I see a female char I think, I wonder if this is MYA or ANUME or Ladyaoki. I don't know enough about anyone's habits to know who plays who or anything. But my characters tend to be flirtatious and I'm always thinking, I bet this is a dude. Why play female chars if ur a guy unless there's a small part of you who just wants to be a girl This is just my opinion, not meant to flame anyone. I was just thinking about it. ajwetton
Saying not meaning to flame someone is a scape goat for trying to flame people, kinda like sayin u look like **** j/k. I play plenty of female toons and i can assure you i have no desire to be a woman, sometimes it just fits the characters personality that i'm trying to achieve, if i want to play a sword slinging heroine that doesn't exactly work now if my character i create has a **** attached to them now does it? I'm sorry but this a very close minded and and pointless thread. Does it matter if they're a male or not? your not gonna know in game, because its full time RP ENFORCED so.... who cares really? I have played several toons who have even RP'd relationships in game and it was probably a guy on the other end. does it matter? no, none of my characters feelings are real, its called make believe thats what RP is, its fake. This game would be alot more boring with out the players branching out and playing opposite genders because at its peak there were maybe MAYBE 8 females playing on a 50-60 person pbase. *just remembering from the pics forum* So I say right on to people open minded enough to branch out and rp something well that they have no connection with. f0xx
I love playing female characters. Especially evil ones. Lying, cheating, backstabbing, scheming, manipulating seems so much easier if you are a woman. I can really understand the person who created the drow race I can understand Mya too
Twinblades713
Kumspytch was a dirty whore. I wanted to RP a dirty whore. Men don't have it as easy, while possible, at being dirty, nasty whores. That's why I played a female most recently.

Sandbox
so much truth in this post, easier to play extreme emotions as a female. They tend to be more attached to their ideals. Atleast more vocal about it.
Djriacen
Depends on whatever inspired my idea for RP. A female character I read about, or a male character. No personal attachments to gender for me, lol.

Elfrosto
Everybody crosses sometimes but way I think is funny is you can always tell when it's male playing a female but not necessarily the other way around. A description can usually tell me if the player is male or female. I played one once... I based her off of Pali's ex girlfriend
Croyvern
Mya, Anume, Archbishop Monk, The Professor, Ladyoki, and our redident contact juggler. And yet still all these men playing females too. I have honestly only rolled ONE female in ten years. Mostly due to muscle memory. Name, Y, Password, Password, N, M, choose race. Just habbits. The One female I did roll was as some others eluded to due to the fact that the RP that spawned her was not possible with a male. If I ever roll a drow cleric, you can bet it will be female. Does this mean I secretly desire to be female? Not in my opinion. Just as the females who play here sometimes roll men do not secretly desire to be men. Its a roll playing game. I supose JK that you never played a female character on a video game either. Never played the chicks on street fighter, Final Fantasy, ect... I agree with the post above that claims the original post is a veiled flame, but instead of complaining to you about it, I will suggest that you find seperation between JK the player, and the characters that you are playing. When I played Faulch, and Croyvern, I had multiple female characters bidding for my attention. Were they all truly female? Of course as a player I was curious, but as a character I could not concern myself with such nonsense. IC they were female, for me to not take that at face value would be completely OOC. Just my thoughts. My advice, stop thinking about it from a player perspective, and immerse yourself in your RP. Good luck and most important, have fun. Demiterracotta
If the RP I am thinking at the time is Female, I hit F. If the RP I am thinking at the time is Male, I hit M. I always try to have RP before I even roll a character. With Ariana, I wanted a strong female (lol at not so strong) that was never going to quit. I partially modeled her after Diz on Starship Troopers, except Gradrel was her Johnny. *shrug* I know people that have an easier time RPing their sex, I know people that have no problems either way, and I know people that always RP the opposite sex, whatever the game. I don't care, and neither should anyone else. IC is IC. I've had males that have been flirted with by females and you know what? When I'm playing I'm in character, so it's not until AFTER the fact that I go 'Hmmmm, I wonder....' And by then? I really don't care, it was in all of my experiences a fun and entertaining game session, which is why I play in the first place. Note: If you have to defend your woman/man-hood on the internet, you care too much.
jekyllvhyde
I WAS TOTALLY KIDDING ABOUT THE WHOLE DESIRE TO BE FEMALE. People stop getting so defensive so quickly, wow. I'll just keep all my posts super-serious from now on. *Puts on his serious face* I had one female character in my decade of mudding, a female halfling thief. It made me sorta uncomfortable when guys would do emotes hitting on me. I can understand females playing male chars to make it harder for their identity to be found out if not for rp reasons. I am also admittedly sexist so I guess I just have a lot of macho pride If I had known something earlier about a certain skill/spell one of my characters would have been a different sex. Anyways, I honestly wasn't trying to bash anyone, I was just stating how I find it awkward to rp hitting on a chick when it may be a dude. I have a very dry sense of humor and make use of much sarcasm.
mya
My motivation to play Females, ended when Messalanta disappeared. Then I found change sex pills. So, I mostly play males.
The Professor
it's far easier just to pass yourself off as male when you're female, that way there isn't any unwanted attention and you can just enjoy the game...I think a males take on how to rp a female is very telling when it comes to how they see women in general...so, my take on males is this: there are 3 modes...sleepy, hungry, and horny...if he's not asleep or trying to have sex...the best you can do is make him a sandwich. How is that for a chauvinistic point of view?

Reccum
Dave Chappelle does a hilarious skit about Men's need. His joke is based around how he read a Cosmo article on how to please your man which was probably written by a bunch of women, and it had 100 ways to please him! His joke is that you only need 4. Suck his d$%&, play with his b&%$s, make him a sandwich, and don't talk so much. I usually roll Male characters cuz it is easier for me, but I might roll a female character now...
