megayeah
I've always been wanderin...why the fyck all of the cabal leaders get their leader ranks close to the end of their lives? Are leaders skills that OP? Are you supposed to be a leader with only a few lives left? What's the deal with all the crap?

Croyvern
Not sure about this one. But their are ways to regain lost lives, it takes awesome RP, but obviously if they make leader, thats not a big deal for them. The real question is why do more leaders not apply for them? Zhokril
Because it usually takes extremely good RP, extremely good PK, and a lot of proving yourself through trying times. That sort of stuff doesn't happen quickly, and any 'screw up' on the way there will set you back a lot. Think of it like trying to get top security clearance in a government agency. How many lives a char has left has nothing to do with it. Though I would say it isn't that common for leaders to condeath.

Imoutgoodbye
I, for one, am glad that the Leader position in a cabal is held to the highest of standards. Kudos to the staff on that.

I am too, tbh...though, I imagine a FL where every cabal has an active mortal leader. I have been so happy with all the elders...its nice to be able to do things politically without having to bug your imm.
megayeah
This is idiotic if you ask me...You spend countless hours of your life...going by the posts around 700 and you might get a set back if you accidentaly gang someone. Admin guys...you need to lower your standarts a bit. This is a ****ing game after all.

Admin guys...you need to lower your standarts a bit. This is a ****ing game after all. This is why you will never have one, or a qrace/class. No patience. Don't expect anything. I've turned down elder positions before, not because I didn't want it but because I didn't think I deserved it yet.

the_nightmare
the standarts to get something are very high indeed. That is why the same people get leaders.Because there are only several that can attend to this standarts which is sad.Leaders should be available to all. jibber
All my Elders and Leaders have never even been close to condeath. I think the last time I condeathed a character was back when I first started playing, too.. It's definitely not based on lives.
Demiterracotta
PK skill SHOULD be inter-twined with having E or L in my opinion. (which it already is) If your elder or leader in your cabal logs in you should expect them to be a great big badass with the skills to throw the enemy off your territory and accomplish your cabal goals. (Or at the very least be putting one hell of a hurt to the enemy before they go down) I have never even seen the powers for either, and with my current playskill I would NEVER accept the position even if it was offered. It is something that I view as a very high mark of a players all around excellence, not something that just anyone can do. Istendil is a power-house, but he wouldn't be near the Knightly paragon without his amazing RP background. And yet giving someone that kind of power requires that they are able to use it to further the goals of the Cabal they are representing, not just having cool new toys to play with. To make it shorter so that it will get my point across: The time is required to make sure the power is going to the right person. Just my 2 slightly bent, over-used coppers. Implementor Volgathras Posted December 14, 2010 Implementor Report Share Posted December 14, 2010 There is a great deal that goes in to the consideration of making someone an elder, even more so a leader. From an RP perspective, a cabal leader has to be the very embodiment of their organization - this means we require an extended period of time to judge whether or not they are, indeed, that. (Note the 'we,' meaning it is often a collaborative decision) From a PK perspective Aabahran's organizations are war-like, and their leader should prove competent in the arena of battle. Time is also required to judge this through wins, losses, and a range of different combatants as their opposition changes. Because of the stringent requirements, Leaders (and Elders) are often held aloft as examples of good players. As such, time is needed to judge whether or not these players can adhere to the rules we set before them. For instance, if Joe Somebody the inductee gangs, its not a big deal for the playerbase, but if Kick-*** the Nexan Superhero gangs, paired with his leader abilities it becomes a blatant and highly publicized ordeal. As for giving out leadership and elder positions because "this is a game and it should be fun," you're asking for the equivalent of a hack. I don't want to level my character up to level 80 so I'll game-genie. I don't want to kill that giant nasty monster for his sword, so I'll duplicate it. I don't want to wait for the part of the story where my character becomes king of the country, I'll just skip right to that point. And what invariably happens when you rush through parts of the game - you get bored, and stop playing. I would suggest that, instead of pining over the fact that one has yet to achieve something special, see it as a goal and adhere to the requirements we set. Just because something is part of a game, doesn't mean it is your inalienable right to achieve it, and if/when you do, it makes it that much sweeter. Mindflayer
Mounting changes/bugs concerning necromancers urked me.
