Chayesh
Though I'm not currently running a cabal, I'd say don't discount the value of clan quests. Sure, they aren't EVERYTHING and some IMMs value them more than others, but if I were running a cabal I would at least view them as a means to check the activity level of my front running candidates. I'm not saying drop from a ranking group or leave Gear or something, but I would think the more you can do, the more your name will sit near the top of the list of hopefuls. Warpnow
Here is my advice on getting cabal'd quickly: Prove you can handle the jobs of the cabal. If you want a knight, go kill a nexus, then send a note to hope about it. Want warmaster? Beat anyone you can, even other warmasters. Want savant? Prove that you are competent at pk and keep good rp. Want herald? Rp your *** off and wait til they have an imm. Want watcher? Prove you can last 2 rounds against Martineius. Want syndicate? Take a lot of bounties. Want Tribunal? You see those people with an outlaw flag? Find them. Kill them.
Goomf
Ok, I'll give some real advice instead of be a pk beast in my last 15 minutes before class (this post won't take 15 minutes to read) In any ANY rp situation, you should set yourself off from anyone else. If your goal is to be a cabal when you create the character, think to yourself what type of character would be enjoyable to you (so you don't get bored) and incredibly unique. Think in the past of different characters that have been rped successfully (as in well known): there was all of Der's battlemages (each had a different rp I think), Malynne, Manipulant/Pruriant, Goomf, etc. Now, in order to become a cabal, I personally prefer having decent pk skills. However, it seems it is not a requirement, as is shown by Malynne's involvements in different cabals (you know it's true). I won't say there should be a good balance between pk and rp, because saying that would imply that there is a completed character where they have 50% rp and 50% pk (out of a scale of 100). RP indicates what your character would do given different circumstances: a thief blackjacks you and pries all your eq. Does your character go after him, or does your character calmly ask for it back. Is your character manipulative, or is he blunt? These are just some of the general questions you shold think of when rping. However, they are but the tip of the iceberg, because these questions should rely on what your character's rp is. I wouldn't set a certain goal for the character, because there can often be disappointments, but set a general standard. Oh, and as for pk, I think it is more survivability and the QUALITY of your pks rather than mass pk (this is for all those qrace apps out there). ****, I have to go to class. Depending on responses, maybe I'll make a guide regarding pk/rp. I know I'm not the best rper, but I've gotten better since I played CF.
Mudder
There is plenty of ways. But the main point is to be dedicated, and know the cabal rules well (Tablet of commands - knights, Maxim - Tribunals, etc) Considering cabal rules (restrictions what you are allowed to do, basically), I think that nexus and syndicate are easiest. Tho, I've never tried 'em... I would say those are the two hardest to get. Especially when Khaede was running Syndi. He was soooo hard to please and whoever said Malch was a mystery, I totally agree. Knight is the easiest to get into, I think. But only because Raar is super active with it and rewards balls and gives chances. He will go out on a limb. Other cabal imms are just weird. (I haven't made WM, Savant, Trib, or Herald with current imms) Though Trib seems easy enough, since they have like 30 million members, a lot of them are newbs. Warpnow
Herald doesn't even have an imm. Hah. Though I did make a herald under Krounoi, and he was a cool, it was hard...and took alot of rp. Knight is definitely easiest, IMHO. Then Tribunal.
Mister E
Lots of sound advice, much appreciated. Seems the consensus is that Tribunal is easy to get into...I guess it was the clan quests that came back to bite me in the arse. I do find it sort of ironic that letting others go for the quests over me was part of my RP, hah, guess Ill remember never to do that again. Keep it coming guys and gals, my next effort is going to be much harder to accomplish so I can really use lots of advice! Anything even more specific would be really helpfull if anyone of you noticed any mistakes I made with my previous chars, rp or pk wise. Thanks
Warpnow
Might be in your rp to let them take them. If that's the case, its in your rp to let them into trib before you. Own for quests. Depending on the clan, you can even pk your opponent for it.

I do find it sort of ironic that letting others go for the quests over me was part of my RP, hah, guess Ill remember never to do that again.[/quote'] There was one major difference between your character and the ones that were allowed to apply to Tribunal. I can't say what it is, but I think it's pretty obvious.
Mister E
If it is so obvious why cant you say? I'd guess the most obvious answer was that I was not (T).
Wathok
I can't give you details because I believe telling players exactly what Prax is/I am looking for would cause some players to do no more than the bare minimum when applying for a cabal. Wathok
I'm sorry, I didn't want the "obvious" part to sound mean. I guess it could be "obvious" from my perspective, but not yours.
Mister E
Having played alongside Fjell' date=' I would guess it was the quests.[/quote'] Funny thing is, that by the end I did start doing quests, both the clan ones and the ones handed out by Prax himself. I was still stuck at inductee though...Anyway I didnt start this thread to argue why I think Fjell should not have been demoted, I am looking for feedback to improve my next one. Edit: Can't help but also think I had sucky timing, to be trusted right when Tribs get a new imm who didnt feel i deserved the rank.
Boy Kid Wonder
Screw that, Anitharil is a freaking promotion nazi. Took Suunmar what 400 hours for elder? He is the most kickass savant since Azun. He like never dies and has good RP. 350 for clan elder. Prolly more. Its crazy. THEN you gotta run EVERY LITTLE THING by Anitharil first. Guess he doesn't trust his Savants. It really leads to less people interested in Savant.
Mister E
Heh, Anithraril has quite the reputation. At least he seems to be consistant though
