It was fun.

Mind if I say... Bull****!

I just wrote a "please don't go" into shout-outs. Looks like for nothing.

[Erana moved the shout out here:]

Don't give up.

People aint just only jerks, they're also afraid. You're a drow thief, so they want to make the first hit, if they don't know you, and you're approaching. Those who know you, are just lamearses who think they'll get score for killing someone who doesn't know her ways around. Doesn't make thing any better for them if you're their clanmate, IMHO. They really don't either know, or care, if you're going to greet them.

***

Who cares if your RP doesn't fit into a role of a drow? If you get outcast and keep on going, my hats off, dude! I'll be there backing you up, as long as you don't become "ordinary drow". My only wish for IMMs is, that if outcast would happen, that they won't be hindering you too much, if at all.

Drow thief is not a weakling. Elf thief can kill a firegiant who's after you (he was thinking he'd re-equip from me). Elf thief, with relative ease, can make a firegiant flee. You just need to give yourself time and opportunity to learn. Even we can do some bad-*** training, imitating real fights (under cover of challenge - if IMMs don't disagree). Especially since poison doesn't really kill in challenge anymore (it wasn't fun to get mob-death from poison in challenge pre-50).

Also, I think that Chakii attacked you because of his RP. He threatened to kill me for merely "apologizing too much". You're a thief - a drow thief - who returns spoils. Unnecessary kick on the head regardless, IMO.

If you wont delete, and instead of whining and complaining focus on having fun, we'll have a freaking blast over time. I'll teach you every damn trick and holy secret I know - along our journey. But only if you decide to stay. (You make me wonder why I didn't become a Teacher in Academy - but then... I more like the personal level of teaching)

Don't give up.

I suggest you keep Lene to use what connections you already build to learn but also roll another character to take off pressure. Make it a neutral ranger or warrior perhaps, can tank good, nobody despises him too much if he doesn't join a clan, so many will take you along. Another idea is a cleric (good or evil), a healer or a paladin, those three classes are very very hard to kill so you will die less. Healer and cleric also have identify, so you can start learning what armor is good for what. Make friends of pinns who know what they are doing early in your life, best before you come into range. (Especially try to find someone who plays the same class as you.) Ask for advise, most vets will give it. A drow thief is a very very touch choice as first character.

Most people condie (= 61 !! deaths) a COUPLE characters before they get really any good!

Once you feel ready to join a cabal, I suggest go WM. You'll still die to Savants but you can also challenge ANYONE else in range, often to the stun. You'll learn a lot!

my 1st thief was a drow thief, it condied very quickly haha.

Please keep in mind that most people do not look at a name and immediatly know the skill level of that person. I really think it is bad form to accuse people of "looking for easy kills" when most do not know its an easy kill..till they kill.

I don't really know what happened to the character to make you want to delete.

I currently play a good aligned character. Remember, I found you training scarecrows and asked you who you were. You told me you planned on being a friendly merchant but that you kept getting attacked. I told you that's why I asked you first. I left you be, and you left me be.

I wish more would take that type of approach. Would make it more fun for everyone.

RE: Nightmare

Though kevian may have been attacked on sight, you also completely earned it based on how you acted to other chars most of the time. I tried to GIVE you armor, and you blackjacked me and stole from me. I have yet to see that from Lene ;)

RE:Lene

Fl is a brutal place right? From what I can gather you may be a bit newer (based on forum handle and post count). But a few little things:

#1-Hide is your friend. Your best friend. Mor elike your siamese twin actually. You should be hiding all the time no matter what, and not sitting in places you cannot hide.

#2- You get 61 lives in FL, I think that should be a good indication that your going to take many deaths with each character. To toss away a trained thief who has what, 15 deaths at the absolute most, seems like a terrifying waste of time.

What you should do is take a bit of time away, and come back refreshed. If you need any help, or have questions, or have trouble with certain aspects please feel free to pm some people. Not Nightmare :). Most of us have a pretty solid grasp on FL, and could give you some good tips. Deykari played a sweet drow thief back in the day, and so did Mindflayer. I am sure both could give you some tips/opinions.

I saw mention of Chakii there and not sure if there was any edited comment or something - I truly hope the attack (and consequent roleplay - which is all talk for humour value, any Syndicate can tell you that!) wasn't a contributing factor to your leaving Lene, and I do hope you pick her back up again because she has some awesome potential. :)

My attacking you was purely as a result of you having a bounty - it's what a Syndicate has to do. I rarely fight with those who aren't bountied or who I am at war with.

Come back soon!

:P Thanks everyone

Basically the story went as follows:

Dum dee dum... preserving herbs for sale, yay. 1 minute till logout!
Oh ****, alarm triggered, gotta set up eyedu-...oh, it's a cartel member.
Cool, I haven't met him before, I don't have a bounty on my head, I guess
I'll stick around for a bit of R..
Oh, blackjacked.
I wonder if he's going to... yep. yep. Triplagged into full loot.

Afterwards, he told me that I deserved it for sitting there like an idiot, and it made me realize I really did pick the wrong class + alignment + clan to play the way I was playing, that is: not nuking the hell out of any clan member who walked up to me.

Granted, it's the third time this scenario's happened to me so I should have been expecting it, but hey - if I wanted to be backstabbed by my "family" this much I'd go visit my parents. :P

I'm debating coming back and either rolling a good-align like a couple people have suggested, or just sticking it through with Lene until she finally gets in to Merchant (though I'm pretty sure I'm still going to get backstabbed via the latter choice).

Either way, I think I need at the least a hiatus from FL. Normally I'm fine with pure-pk games, but somewhere along the line I got a little too emotionally invested in the character.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone, a lot of you gave me a great time.

This is a key here.

Thieves and ninjas are hated (especially falcon eye ninjas). Make them a drow and basicly everyone turns into your enemy.

Unless you make a name of yourself for a non-aggressive drow thief you will have people attacking you on sight. And that is how it should be, to fit into the RP of our world.

Whilst those situations aren't enjoyable, it's one of the 'luxuries' of playing as a thief - nobody likes a thief (I can attest to that) and a clan like Cartel isn't always a clear-cut group of friends (I can also attest to that). At the very least, it should teach you one of the fundemental rules in Aabahran: Trust nobody, especially if you've been attacked by three clan members! :)

I honestly do suggest you keep at Lene, because as much as it may not seem that way from your personal experience, getting into an active cabal with active members is a brilliant way to learn, and you will have the assistance there to help when the going gets tough. Don't let the tough talk of the evil alignment throw you in the more 'evil' of the clans/cabals, because you will still be amongst allies just like the Knights (99.87% of the time! :D).

Kay, I'm going to try this again :)

I've learned my lesson about not prepping when I see a (supposed) friendly coming, so I'm going to do my best to still survive without betraying my character.

Gonna show how a real drow should be played, instead of a hyperaggressive ponce who's as obvious as Captain Obvious obviously posing on top of the Obviousmobile.
