The End
I'm alive. :-D I am in my last semester before nursing school and I am faced with a big decision. I think I love bio-engineering. I am part of a study right now that uses your own white blood cells to carry radioactive isotopes to use as a form of radiation therapy and I think I am really falling in love. Sadly it means going to school for another 4 years instead of 1 1/2. Money is about the same as my end goal of being a Nurse Practitioner which would still only be 3 years away. Should I go with the safe bet as a NP or should I risk the degree and loads of money for a position that has very very limited openings and even less job security? Demiterracotta
After military I'll be going into bio-engineering. So don't. I need a job! But seriously, IMO do what you can see yourself doing for twenty years. Whether that is nursing or bio-engineering, ignore the money and possible limited availability of jobs, if you are extremely enthusiastic about a field then you can always intern somewhere in the summer or w/e and get some connections so you will find it easier to get a job in said field. The End
I think the best bet is to finish the Nursing and continue school and hope for a bad *** job.
Mali
If you pursue bio engineering, you better be ready to go all out for the PHD. This could be great for you, but involves alot of time and planning. If you wish to get a BA level education and then go into the job market, stick with nursing.
