I know this topic has been brought up before, but since I've only played the game at a friends I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you guys on the game.

Replayability? Other than going through once on each class is it worth it?

The expansion? Is it worth it? Does it unlock a whole bunch of game content that will either help replayability or just make it more interesting?

Oh, and is it better on console or PC? I know some games are better one way or the other.

All the DLC that I've played on it gives an item that you can use throughout your DA games. IE: The Darkspawn Chronicles when completed gives you a sword that you can use in DA:O and Awakenings. And all the other DLC. Some items don't translate, like the memory band, but that's alright.

Expansion. Heh. 2 extra specializations per class, one extra point and level cap of 35 (from unlimited, though I've not heard too many people completing the game above 23.) Import your DA char to Awakenings. Then that char into Golems. Then into Witch Hunt. Then into DA2 where you'll see your decisions fleshed out much like EA/Bioware did with Mass Effect.

Now if you're an achievement/trophy whore, then you're going to go through it at least twice, and the openings for all the backgrounds.

22Feb is the DA2 demo, and from what I understand, you'll get an unlockable for use in DA2, in addition to pre-order and Sig stuffs.

And personally, I've got the 360 version, but I think that games like that are better overall on PC. But that's my 2 cents. At least NWN2 did, and it's a very similar game/engine.

its better on PC. The PS3/console versions are poor because you can't zoom out and you can't stack commands for your team members during one pause. Rather, you must pause, enter character command, unpause, switch character, pause, enter command, unpause, switch character, etc.

Its still a good game, but the PC version is better and allows an overhead view like old school fallout/BG style.

Are the achievements on the PC version as well? I thought that was just a 360 thing. Because yes I am an achievement whore. (to give you a hint, my character on WoW has over 11k achievement points).

So my character will be able to migrate into DA2?

Edit: I WILL be playing the DA2 demo then. lol. Thanks Magick. and Mali, I own a PS3 and it seemed fairly smooth on the console, so I wasn't sure if the controls would be awkward or buggy since it was on the consoles before PC from what I gathered.

Your character won't be able to be transfered, but the decisions you make in both the games and the DLC will show in DA2. Also, from what I understand, it will play a little more like ME with the radial style decisions.

ME1 wasn't released on PS3. Thus the PS3 ME1 intro on the ME2 disc.

DA achievements on PC, not sure. I can find out, but it will be a little later on. Unless someone here knows, that is.

Like magick says there is an interactive graphic novel at the beginning of the PS3 version of ME2 that takes you through the story of ME1 and makes you make decisions that will influence the second game.

Since you have a ps3, do you plan on checking out marvel vs capcom 3 next week?

Dragon Age Origins, for me, was a great game. But, I want to point out, I played it on Casual. I played for the story and to control ONE character, the other characters could die for all I cared. I always had plenty of gold for injury kits, healing potions, and had myself outfitted in the best equipment I could buy/kill/extort for.

That being said, as far it has some replayability to it. Mostly race dependent and dealing with the Origins. They're small little hooks here and there and each character you pick up has their own unique little story. The random encounters can slow it down a little bit and bored the hell out of me for the most part, but were few and far in between. The experience alone rocked. I haven't been so psyched about playing a game since Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Just to give you an idea of how picky I am when it comes to game immersion and my specific taste in settings. If you want to pick up ALL the trophies, you're looking at a few play throughs. I got them all in three.

Onto Dragon Age: Awakening. I got this right after it came out and, to be honest, probably should have just put it up for a little while. It felt rushed and they played with some things a bit. The story WAS interesting in the end, but it dragged and you could tell writing talent was missing on this project. They tried a few new things like adding "runes" into it. Bored me. Not enough conversation decisions for me and I didn't feel as in control. The progression of talents/skills just made my main thief character RIDICULOUSLY powerful. Kyzarius had another combo that also made me shake my head in disbelief. But, that was what I was looking for, an insanely powerful character. ;) The expansion is interesting and at its current price is reasonable for what it is: story continuation and another view of the dark spawn.

Awakening, to my knowledge, won't likely play much of a factor in story continuation to Dragon Age II. But, Dragon Age II looks incredible and sounds incredible.

Mass Effect is for sci-fi geeks. :)

The only fighting games I really play are Soul Calibur, I own the first four.

I'm waiting skeptically to see if it's just an Homage to the fans or if it will truly be a good fighting game.
