Imoutgoodbye
Mostly sitting here staring at a blank page for my "speech mid term paper". Should have ran on the first day I started this class. It's Speech 101. I'm halfway through the class and we've had one test that every member of the class failed except for ONE student. The syllabus doesn't have any descriptions of what we're doing, how many tests we're taking, or when anything is supposed to be done. He never posts anything on Moodle for us. He just talks during the hour about a chapter of reading or how he's going to the bar that weekend. We all already know he got divorced last year and she took the dog, blah blah blah. At the last minute the mid term test became a mid term paper on interpersonal relationships based on the movie "He's Just Not That Into You" and this is the first time I've ever been told to write a four page paper on something with little detail other than "read that chapter and relate it". Bleh....just had to complain. Helps me feel a little better. Literally just want someone to put an ice pick through my skull. This guy is the worst teacher I have ever had. Strictly teaches to auditory students, the least of the multiple intelligence demographic.
KRins
As an auditory student... F you pal. In your defense, I wanted to rip out all my hair when I had poorly organized teachers. An incomplete syllabus is actually grounds for you to dispute any grade you get in that course FYI.
Imoutgoodbye
LMAO! I'm not saying least as in "you suck, you don't deserve to be taught to", I'm saying least as in YOU, sir, are in a minority. Most people don't learn like that. I'm not too far off from you. I'm a Visual/Kinesthetic learner. I like to see written instructions, I like organization, I like taking notes, and I like being able to TRY things and get feedback before I actually get graded on them. Kids wouldn't be so afraid of failing in school if given opportunities to fail when it doesn't matter and being told "Hey, it's okay to fail right now". It's BS pressure that gets put on kids, it's false to try and teach them skills they don't know, but force them into believing it has to be done right and right now. Imoutgoodbye
Finished the mid term essay. Took me about four hours to write three damned fine pages. It's unfortunate, but I took a shot at speech classes in general while writing it, but in an academic way. I fulfilled the requirements while getting my opinion in there. EDIT: Thanks for listening to me gripe. It truly helps me to know that someone is listening.
