Game of Thrones

Wow. I had the privilege to go to a private pre-screening premiere of the pilot episode of Game of Thrones. I've never seen such production value in the TV setting, and they certainly don't try to dumb it down to a PG-13 audience. Bravo, HBO, it's going to be a hit.

Some definite changes from the book, but none that had anyone TOO up in arms.

Hands down tied for the best series I've ever read, feast for crows was probably the worst of the lot though.

stoked that HBO is doing the series, they do good work

stoked that he's finally coming out with his next book, dance of dragons

Holy-freaking-zombie-jesus.... when I first read Game of Thrones, i can't even begin to describe how blown away I was with Martin's style of writing. And he keeps it up, throughout all the other books (can't wait until book 5). It's mature, it's bloody, and it's the kind of characters you can believe. There's very few clear lines between good/evil... and sometimes the guy you like dies.... I freaking love it. I can't wait to watch the series.

I have to admit, I really disliked Jaime in the beginning... but now... he's kind of lovable, ain't he?

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck is goin on in the series(tv) I havent had a chance to get the books yet, but I'm gonna.

Someone help me please:

So Boromir(i dunno dude's name) is now the King's hand, right? And they had to move so he could take the job. Little dude that got pushed out the window is paralyzed AND has amnesia? it's like a freakin soap opera with swords...I think I should get the books.

Who are all the evil blond people?

(and The Sword of Truth series kickass)

At the moment, you've got the important basics of the overall plot. Things will be going crazy in the next few episodes, however, so expect a LOT of changes (and a few main characters to die).

The blonde people are the queen's family, the Lannisters - at the moment you've met her, her twin brother Jaime who she's screwing (the good looking guy with the attitude ;)), and their younger brother Tyrion, the dwarf. However, looking at any characters in this show beyond a couple as "good" or "evil" is a mistake - this is not a fantasy series that uses such viewpoints all that much.

I was wondering about the wierd looking blonde chick' date=' that's obviously a brunette in real life, and her (kid?) who got f-ed up by that awesome wolf {tear}[/quote']

Ah, so Pali explained correct then.

The blond chick is the queen. The blond guy (the cool looking one) is her brother who is also screwing her. The imp is their brother as well.

I thought so too, but she doesn't have a kid, especially one that got bitten by a wolf.

On the other hand the queen has an arrogant kid who got bitten by the girl's direwolf while he was trying to poke her with his sword :P

Nope. The son getting messed up by the wolf gives it away.

Blonde in question - Queen of the Seven Kingdoms

Blonde Kid - Prince of the Seven Kingdoms

Older ruggedly handsome blonde dude - Incestuous brother to the King and member of the King's Guard. He also killed the old king to get Robert his throne.
