Grosek_
Spybot. Adaware. Microsoft Anti Spyware. Get them all. Then stop using ****ing IE and dl firefox and you're golden. Damn IE is awful about picking up any garbage it happens to find floating around the web.
WarriorCleric
Manual Removal. Outside that, what tom said, just don't run them all at the same time. I don't get anything and I use Firefox as my browser, and symantec client firewall as my protection. Most threats are picked up, infact I can only recall the times I did get some garbage is when I actively clicked on stupid things. WC
Mmm Coffee
Or get Mac. F-3000 is right on target if you can afford it. Especially now that Apple has released a beta version of a boot-switching software that will let you run Windows on MAC hardware.
WarriorCleric
If the problem is getting spyware, then running windows on a mac is not going to prevent you from getting spyware, it just means your willing to spend twice as much to get spyware on your os. If you spend the money to get a mac, why not use the mac for the perks it has? WC
jb5679
I have to agree with everyone about Firefox. Ever since I started using it I've had absolutely no spyware or popups. I also use Symantec firewall like WC. I remember a post awhile back mentioning something about clearing all the spyware with X programs, figured I'd see if I had any and it found 0. So, firefox is one sexy program.
brsingr
get crap cleaner. free, and good.
Chayesh
I don't get popups or spyware crap. Running IE with onboard firewall, NAV, yahoo Pop-up blocker and toolbar, Adaware SE Personal and Spybot 1.4. Adaware, Spybot, Yahoo Pop-Up Blocker...all free. As we've discussed before, it's not so much about IE as it is the steps you are willing to take to fill in the gaps they left, gaps that can be filled easily and cheaply. Dale
What's a popup? I have never had such. And Chayesh is right we have discussed this.
