You begin with a can of beer. That is your 'staff' and you are a level 1 mage. Every time you drink a can, you saw off the top of your first one and bottom of your new one, duct tape them together and fill with beer - you are then a level 2 mage. Repeat for each new beer, and everytime your 'staff' grows one can, you level up. At levels 2, 4 and 5 you have to fight 'the boss' which is a shot of your chosen spirit.

We played this last night at a party, and it was insanity. We had the Super Mario 'mushroom power up' sound on stand-by for every time somebody levelled up. More beer ended up on the floor I think cause of some people's poorly constructed staffs. I highly recommend this game to all geek-drinkers. :D

Every four levels? By level four, that already works out at roughly 10 cans of beer. By level eight, that's roughly 55 cans (if you're cutting cans and reconnecting to make one long tube and then refilling with beer). Don't think anyone would be reaching level eight at any point. :P

Huh. I missed the part about sawing the top & bottom off and refilling... we just attached a new can on top of the old can. So in our version, four beers would be level four, eight would be level eight, and so on.

Something about sawing apart beer cans while heavily intoxicated doesn't sound smart to me.

Sounds like binge drinking, or at the very least over drinking, which is stupid and dangerous.

Maybe i'm old now, but two to three beers and I call it a night.

I guess I could be a level 3 wizard :)

Anyways, in America only rednecks drink from a can.

In 2007, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) effectively lifted the longstanding absinthe ban, and has since approved many brands for sale in the U.S. market. This was made possible partly through the TTB's clarification of the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) thujone content regulations, which specify that finished food and beverages that contain Artemisia species must be thujone free.[97] In this context, the TTB considers a product to be thujone-free if the thujone content is less than 10ppm (equal to 10 mg/kg).[98][99] This is verified through the use of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry.[100]

The importation, distribution, and sale of absinthe is permitted with respect to the following restrictions:

The product must be thujone-free as per TTB guidelines,

The word "absinthe" can neither be the brand name nor stand alone on the label, and

The packaging cannot "project images of hallucinogenic, psychotropic or mind-altering effects."
