Demiterracotta
So my walkman I got in sixth grade finally broke at work today. And I can't work without music so I figure I should get into the digital age. And lighten the load of AA's I've carried around for years. Was wondering if anyone had some info on a good model of Ipod. I don't like touchscreen stuff, it breaks too easy in my experience, and I'm rough on things. (Chasing cows, changing water, climbing in and out of machinery, etc.) I'd like one with a battery life of over twelve hours and it has the ability to play around that amount of music. And I'd also like one with an FM tuner. (Preferably with great reception, I'm really out in the middle of nowhere most the time.) Anyone have any ideas on what would fit the bill for me? Doesn't even need to be an Ipod, but some type of MP3 player would do the trick, I've just always been told Ipods are the best out there.
Evangelion
The SanDisk Sansa Fuze mp3 player is pretty good quality, and has an FM tuner - not sure what the reception is like on it, as I never used it on mine. Relatively inexpensive as well. Should only run you like 50 bucks for the 4GB one, and it has a 24ish hour battery life.
inscribed
Samsung and Cowon have the best selection of MP3 players from my experience. I stay away from all things Apple. There's really nothing to worry about with modern touchscreens. I'm an aircraft mechanic and work in pretty rough conditions, and I have yet to have any problems with my Samsung P3's touchscreen. Also, check out this site: http://anythingbutipod.com/ for some great reviews and articles on MP3 players, headphones, music software and all other things related to PMP's. edit: Sandisk has gotten much better with their mp3 players as well from what I've read, but I stay away from them just because my first player from them way back in the day was a total POS. First impressions are everything.
