mya
Trap as they are now, can hit you, even if you are not in the same room. As long as one of your pets triggers the trap. For example. You are a Communer character and have a pet/mercenary. You fight a thief, he beats you badly. What you do? You recall. And now you are safe on your temple. Or so you think... Sudently!!! <220/964hp 580/812m 413/484mv 11134g 3h M> The pain gets you to your feet. Trap *** OBLITERATES *** you! You sure are BLEEDING! <48/964hp 580/812m 413/484mv 11134g 3h M> Your pet moved, trying to follow you. And triped some traps. Even though you are nowhere near the trap you eat damage. What do YOU think of this? Let's hear different opinions. For me this is unfair. First it breaks suspension of disbelief. Getting hit by a trap in a far off room. Second, it is unfair. You escaped with distance and now you are getting hit from beyond the grave. Third this opens for a nasty combo, where the thief follows the said charmie placing traps in his path. So that you eat them. Luckily I have yet to see this happen. .
jibber
In my opinion, it's a mechanic that never was meant to be. I agree that your pets/group mates should trip a trap if you're in the same room, and you should get hit by it too, but halfway across Aabahran? It's a broken mechanic. The-Nameless
While I can see the obvious flaws in the current setup, there is a simple fix. Nofollow. Not a single class has a viable reason not to do it. Necros have an orb of recall, as do most other classes that have pets. Now if I have to choose between pets, and living you choose living because you would lose your pets when you die anyway. I don't like it, but it can be gotten around. jibber
Sure, there's ways around it. Definitely. But that doesn't mean it isn't a mechanic that's completely broken. I can understand (for now) going about ways to avoid it, until the staff can get it fixed, by why should we always have to avoid an obviously broken mechanic? Annyyway. Croyvern
this has to be a missed failure. I agree that it should be fixed. For those with Word, it is often THE escape route should things go bad. Such as, spells suddenly falling and near death experiences. So your likely to be hit by the trap while unsanced or close to death.
