Demiterracotta
I know most of you guys tend to have an opinion on this and was wondering when you think a person should roll up something to go for a Q slot. I've had a few ideas in my head but due to playtime constraints for the summer months and not sure if I can hack it I haven't rolled anything yet. Just wanted to get some feedback as to when you as players would consider a person ready to jump into something like this.
Implementor Anume Posted June 23, 2011 Implementor Report Share Posted June 23, 2011 Are you able to stay ic and not cuss at peopel even if things run badly? Can you fight without tagging or ganging? Can you adhere to the rules strictly? Are you a good rper? Are you able to pk a bit at least ? If all that is a yes, you're ready for trying for a qclass. KRins
My suggestion, worthless as it is, is to always dream big. The vast majority of my characters always have some kind of q slot potential in mind. If it pans out, it is amazing... if it doesn't, such is life. Even a character that doesn't a qrace/qclass potential I will at least try to work in a restrung race into the character, because I just full on despise just being one of the crowd. My ferals are gonna be restrung to a kitsune or something. My evil humans are looking for undead/demon/etc. My goodies are seeking out an avatar slot. Even if those don't pan out... I'm slying working on earning a tattoo or maybe a custom title. I never ever settle for just being what is offered to me freely at creation. the_nightmare
Everytime, q-stuff is not a big thing to play, it takes just a little more from the side of the player.Q-stuff is for the more experienced from PK and RP view because it would be easy for them to adept with the world around them with a demon or a vampire for example.Undeads have big vuln and if you do not have a little bit of PK exp better do not apply for one.I think that psi is the most newbie friendly and gives you a lot of RP ideas However what I really like to see is both vets and newbies having a qclass or a qrace because I think that everyone deserves to play what he want

Also: Do you have the time to dedicate to a character that takes up a slot? i.e. Other people are undoubtedly going to be going for the same thing, and if you don't have the time, are you willing to take that chance from someone else? Demiterracotta
I got a 80% on Anume's Test. I need more PK skills. (At least IMO, I believe good RP is more obvious to others rather than yourself.) And that's why I haven't rolled one yet Frosty, I'm NOT going to take a slot from someone when I don't have the time to dedicate what I perceive to be an adequate amount of playtime into the character. Thanks for the responses guys. Good stuff.
Imoutgoodbye
I'll add one more thing to when you're working on your q-race/class. I always encourage people to go for it. Get Some Attention: 1. Send notes to the Herald cabal to pass on for you. 2. Interact with as many people as you can. (RP and PK) 3. Slap random members of Nexus (joking) At the very least, those suggestions will get you noticed fast and get your app through faster. Even if you don't get it, you can get some feedback on the Prayer Forum. I also recommend continuing with the character if you want to. You never know where it might go. You could get another chance later, you might get a different opportunity for something that is equally as special. Just let it flow. What happens, happens. Cephirus
I think THE most important pk'ing skill is the ability to run. Nothing is as important as knowing when things are not going your way, and you need to rest up, so you have to be able to get away while losing your opponent. The second is the ability to chase, if you can do the first, I say give it a shot. The more you play, the better the rest will fall in line for you. Cephirus
Pfft, yeah, but foxx can't keep up with me. I would dare argue that I may be one of the hardest people to chase. Old AR first gave me those running skills (Lord knows I could not PK to save my life), and on FL I have sharpened those. In fact, you personally know what a pain in the *** it is to chase me. That is not to say I cannot be chased, just I will not make it easy. Obviously there are certain skills in the game that make that much more difficult... but that is neither here nor there. megayeah
My opinion, as worthless as it may be, is that if anyone who has devoted so much time training a charecter, pk-ing and rp-ing( no matter how bad he is in all the aspects), should get the thing they are after. After all, the Immortals know everyone (I'd call us IP's) that playes here so well, that I think there's no point in watching the charecter all the time and expecting a tremendous amount of RP to even think about deciding on his application. Just my opinion. Feel free to hate me for it.

Thanks for the responses guys. Good stuff. PK Skills aint go nothing to do with being the actually character. If you know to use sanction before a fight and know when to press for the victory or flee for the retreat then you know enough. I played a Herald Vampire and I certainly wasnt out killing everything. Izzy
I would like to bring up a point on this as I was reading, if you are not willing to accept the failure of not getting your character, do not bother even trying alot of hours goes into the process, and to have it not happen is no fun.
