jibber
Well.. guys, I think it's time. I've been mulling over this for quite some time, and really haven't had the push to actually do it until recently. I think it all began when it became vividly apparent that the player base doesn't like healers who.. defend themselves. Early on in Genrill's life, many, many people attacked him. I defended against every single person, and in ending to every single fight, I didn't kill anyone except one person, and I don't remember him saying much except "Bah!". I think I RP'd a healer very well, but the Immortals unfortunately didn't agree with me. That's all okay, though, that's not the reason for me letting Genrill go. I died twice, so if anyone wants to own up to their PKs against Genrill, now's a prime time! I had a lot of fun making a certain Necromancer's life hell (you know who you are!) and I think I netted a total of 15 PKs, which turned some heads (obviously). Fortunately every single PK, minus one, was all undead/vampire. Even with all that (and yes, I RP too) I'm finding it dismal to even log on because I know one thing for sure: I'm a paperweight for a healer. I don't want to make this a flame thread or anything, or point fingers and call names, but when you're unable to heal your cabal mates, defend yourself aggressively (note: I didn't aggressively kill anyone here), or pretty much have to flee from every single encounter because there's a SINGLE role-play you MUST follow.. well, I just can't do it. I heard from one of the IMMs (I can't remember which) that healers might be overhauled in time, so until then, no healers for me. Seems the IMMs are little outcast happy (especially when I thought I was following an RP acceptable for my religion selection!) when it comes to Healers. Following one Staple RP is pretty boring, and IMHO shouldn't be something in FL. So without further delay, your friendly neighborhood healer is gone for awhile. You might see Genrill around ages from now, but you definitely won't see him in a cabal, or with any equipment. jibber
As for the RP, it was based around gathering dust from "undeadlings" and joining Savant to figure out a way to reverse undeath. It quickly got pushed under the rug when people couldn't push aside the whole "WM versus Savant" masquerade.. and all I found myself doing (since I couldn't effectively defend without possibly being denied) was retrieving, calming attackers, and running. Imoutgoodbye
I think the RP could have been done without the Savants. Now, a cleric healer in Tribunal would have been awesome. Definitely would have got you the PK you were looking for, if only in the form of executions. EDIT: Hold onto that "masquerade" idea though. I'm tired and want to go to bed, but I agree with you there.

Implementor Anume Posted July 10, 2011 Implementor Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 I don't think the discussion of what you did or did not belongs here so I'll just say that the incident on the river alone was enough for the outcast. That you did not kill that person was not your chosing it was someone giving them a boat. So yes, I think you fully earned that outcast and got of easy as you lost no skills. If you feel you wish to discuss things further, please post on prayer. Also, the staff agrees that healers should get overhauled eventually to make them more interesting again. f0xx
Jibber, despite I don't like you as a person, your characters are usually very good, RP and PK wise, but... This character was so "Uhm..." in so many ways. And because I don't want to make this a flame, I will simply quote: Can't say I'll miss you PS. If you want to know what I mean, feel free to PM me. Hence why I didn't say it was a flame, or anything like it. Although, the player base definitely needs to know regardless, since it isn't posted anywhere. Last I was told was: You can't chase over multiple areas. If they leave the current area you're in, they're safe. However, I was outcasted for summoning someone who attacked me, I fled, summoned them onto water, and laid in the hurt. Oh well
Implementor Anume Posted July 10, 2011 Implementor Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 And attacked them there 33 times... Just for clarification: we've outcasted another healer for keeping a door closed and thus hindering a non-undead from fleeing. It's about the same here, a healer shouldn't try very hard to kill a non undead that goes beyond self-defense.
jibber
Only because he kept fleeing without a boat. Not my fault.
Implementor Anume Posted July 10, 2011 Implementor Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 Exactly. He kept fleeing = you tried very very hard to kill a non-undead = outcast.

jibber
It seems all the negative responses are from people who: 1. Attacked Genrill 2. Figured just fleeing (1 or 2 rooms away) would make it all better and be a free get-out-of-PK card. I understand the lot of you believe since the IMMs say it's not allowed, that we all should try our hands at killing a healer and see who could get him outcasted first.. but do you all find it that much fun? Oh well. What beats you, you hate. What doesn't beat you, you love. That's the motto lately
Imoutgoodbye
It seems *puts an arm around Jibber* Dear Sir, as I sit here in my chair, being unemployed for the first time in nearly nine years, drinking my troubles away, I'm laughing. I'm not entirely sure what I am laughing about. But I assure you that I am laughing more at me than anyone else. So, it is in good spirits and in good brotherhood, that I say I'm not sure what amuses me more: The contrasting irony of each of us or that I am a fool. Dear Jibber, sir, *kisses you on the forehead* I do so love you like a Brother, but you have me in stitches as much as I have put myself into stitches. Please, take the Joker as the Joke at his behest and be amused! For the pool may not be great, but any wizard knows that dipping his staff in a mana pool is a better idea than corpse camping that'll never rez. Haha! Rez? Healer? Get it? Balgashang
for myself, I only stepped in when I saw bullying of non undeads, and got my *** handed to me, I don't feel bad about it. You're a great pk'er don't feel bad about loosing. Getting chased across the world was annoying. hey i'm going to go kill these necro's zombies, and do my damndest to kill the the non undead necro too, yea I thought it was kinda crappy. You're great with pretty much any class you play man, you've got great rp most of the time. Aggro healer was a bit much tho, imo, and unneeded. Did your damndest to rack up pk's with a healer. End of story.
jibber
You could ask mindflayer if you want, that I never intentionally went to kill him. Just his zombies.
Balgashang
I know the one time I fought him mindflayer didn't have any zombies and you showed up, then I got chased halfway around the world, and attacked time and again til you couldn't find me. You used a shadow bottle to get through magic to reach me. Seemed fairly aggressive to me. Not mention all the trash talk to me when our pcs hadn't even met intially. jibber
Heh, I didn't use a shadowy bottle. And I can't really say how I got to where you were, but I guarantee it wasn't a shadowy bottle. As far as being in the Cavern of Shudde Me'll, I was only there to kill the mob / sacrifice the corpse before Zylenier did, and I never attacked either of you. Ironically, though, you both attacked me :-P As far as the trash talk, I believe it was you who said something first that was very degrading (might be your rp I guess) and I just replied the best Genrill could. Balgashang
I think was it along the lines of a healer is beneath my notice (i.e. noncombatant) I did jump the gun and attack first, best defense and all ;P Edit: In general I like your pcs, kicked my butt on the regular with Istendil, just wanted to add I didn't have any intent of flaming, just trying to express the reasons I said Crisnae 2.0, don't mean it as a whine, just thought genril was aggressive for a -healer-. Got nothing against -you-, the jibber heh
