Star Trek related.

I simply found this fascinating. I have to look at these types of articles to help retool my brain for the upcoming semester.

I also found my Synthesis Essay, which I plan on posting later. Just have to figure out the cut-off point as it's 5 pages. Yes, I'm quite proud of my academic writing, as it's different than my forum posting. ;)

Great analysis, except it leaves out one thing that helps explain the prevalence of red-shirt deaths in the original Star Trek - red shirts were worn only by engineering and, more pertinently, security personnel, and the latter especially should be expected to bear the brunt of risk and casualties. (For the curious: blue shirts were medical and science, gold were command and operations.)
