Bert
Hey there. Came back a bit ago after a break and have tried a few things. Keep hitting the same walls as before though. Frustrating. Going to approach this question a bit different than before. A few assumptions before you answer. 1: Anything in Gear/Dischord/Deso/Avalon/Blood/Steel/Magic is off limits. You can't ever expect to hold anything from here. 2: No weapons with a WC greater than say 27 or 28. This is mostly due to #1, but want it to cover voulge and a few others. There you have it. What would you play under those restrictions and why. I have tried to play what is most interesting to me several times. But I always find I need something from 1 or 2 to be competitive, which ruins my fun. The above restrictions are very realistic for me and the conditions I have to play under almost all of the time. Please include cabal choices as well, as my experience with them is still somewhat limited. And take into account the cabal warfare you'll have to do with your choice. Thanks guys. mya
What you are describing is a moderate, self reeling combo that can stand his own uncabaled and still be fun. 1. Dwarf combat Cleric -> Tribunal Adjudicator. 2. Dwarf Blademaster -> Watcher 3. Half-Elf monk -> Warmaster Gladiator 4. Slith Neutral Thief -> Syndicate 5. Avian DK -> Syndicate Combat Dwarf is the most easy of the list. Get a mace/whip, a shield, suit out in Hit/dam gear and have a blast. As a Tribunal it will be hard to focus on a single enemy type suit, as you will have the potential to be fighting anyone of the Who list. This is why full hit/dam is a good choice. Remenber to go Adjudicator. There were several very good players on this combo on Tribunal and Knight. I am sure if you ask they will come aid you with advice. Dwarf Blademasters are power houses. Even with less EQ, and being a watcher means, your enemies will be less allowing you to focus your gear on the particular TRib/Undead menace. Ask Fox or Bligszy for tips. Half elf monks, are easy. Little eq required and lows consumables needed. I am sure other war-masters will give you many helpful tips. Slith thieves in Syndicate are very common. What EQ you cannot get, you can steal. With little fear of losing it on death. I hope you don't play this one, cause no one likes thieves. Avian DK's are pretty much the best ones for newbie introduction in PK. DK's are strong with no malforms and monsters with them. I do not expect you to get yours very high, but you will learn tons, and Syndicate offers a good friendly PK environment, as they are almost never at war. Good luck, and remember to have fun. Croyvern
I would say halfling BLM, but it didn't work before did it. So let me throw this out there, halfling healer knight. I found it to be a blast. Moderate means your always ready for battle, healer means you always have room for a get away, and knight gives you the right to protect others. Have fun, and you can not make a bad choice my friend, just Roll with it.
f0xx
I have found clerics to be the least EQ dependent.... and most boring. Drow, Guile Cleric in Savant. A lot of fun guaranteed. A friend of mine says: Once you've tried a DK, everything else will seem boring. And he is right. The thrill of leveling your malforms can be compared with nothing. But bear in mind, with the recent changes with malforms (losing power no matter of their level) it can be very very annoying, especially for less experienced player. Blademasters in my opinion are broken and need to be fixed. They are way too strong in the hands of someone who even half-knows what is doing. I think we've talked with you about BLMs before, so I doubt you will want to try another so soon. Monk is something that I completely suck with, but I've always wanted to do a monk in praet. I will one day. Battlemage is another interesting concept. The strongest battlemage I've ever faced was Virarc (elf/temporum) (Hit&Runs) and Jibber's undead pandy Battlemage, forgot the name. Rangers I suck with, but they seem little EQ dependent, with their own bows, staffs, arrows and pets.
The Forsaken
Ogre Rangers are pretty easy to re-equip. The ability to create a weapon,(staff) and a pretty decent staff at that, is a good plus. The pets and ranged weapons don't hurt either.
Djriacen
I'd say a barbarian of any kind as a lot of your armor, if executed properly, will come from the cabal skills and items.

DKs are my favorite class by far. Thing is, I need weapons. Actually, not really need, want. I've pulled off kills in complete crap with a warlock, but its rare. I've been here for like 2 years I think now. I've never held Rokujan, monorod, voulge, Elundaris, bringer, vorpal, etc. Don't think I've ever had a weapon above WC 28. If I had the means to get any one of those semi-reliably I'd probably be a hardcore DK player. With each one I start I eventually get bummed out with my crappy weapons, feel gimped, and then shelve. I even asked Anume for suggestions one day on weapons help. She said pretty much the exact same thing as others I've asked. Voulge, manticore tail, etc. Stuff I've never been able to acquire. Maybe I'm putting too much importance on it, but I don't think so. I've asked quite a few people in and out of game. Everyone pretty much agrees that while I could malform that barbed pike, its not the best idea. This talk is making me want to play one again though. I have a few fully trained DKs shelved, maybe I'll dust one off again.

Implementor Anume Posted August 1, 2011 Implementor Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 If weapons are your problem take nexus or knight where you get castable cabal weapons.
Kyzarius
If weapons are your problem take nexus or knight where you get castable cabal weapons. If you roll for nexus with this intent be sure to choose your "favorite weapon" at creation carefully.

H&R
A friend of mine says: Once you've tried a DK, everything else will seem boring. f0xx
I was a drow actually You tap into a Staff of Fangs's mana pool and reinforce your spell. You bow your head as you call forth the full power of the arcane. The ground erupts as Myrtaal is caught in a searing beam of arcane light. 'Spyweev' the Hand of Faith crumbles in your hellstream. Myrtaal fades into existence. Your hellstream === DISINTEGRATES === Myrtaal! <
