Demiterracotta
So I'm taking one. Where should I go? West of the mississippi. Interesting out of the way awesome stuff that isn't a big tourist attraction would be great. This is going to be the trip where I propose, so keep it classy San Diego. Imoutgoodbye
You will find little out west of the Mississippi. However, if you do go that way, may I recommend Arizona? I personally would love to see a desert sunset. **** California. I hope it falls into the ocean. Without any of our players.
Demiterracotta
If the limited time/gas budget wasn't a factor I would go anywhere. But she's heading back home again soon, and I'm poor. Anything closer than the east coast maybe? Like midwest? I'll ponder the desert sunset thing. Utah has some great desert sunsets and was planning on going through parts of it. This is a week long trip of us packing up and just driving. Preferably not on an interstate. Edit: And was thinking of seeing the redwoods in northern california, but as for the rest of it, I agree.
One Way Up
Branson bound, baby. Propose to her in the middle of the Beatles show, or perhaps while they are roping buffalo during the Dixie Stampede..... Edit: In all seriousness, Flagstaff, AZ is amazing. I loved it when I road tripped through there. Colorado is nice, but being from Missouri and all, everywhere I go now I find myself kind of comparing the scenery to what I get to see here every day. What kind of things are you wanting to see?
Demiterracotta
Something other than sagebrush, preferably green country and clear skies. I dislike crowded cities. Arizona sounds prospective. I live in high mountain desert, so basically anything with either more green or less lava rock is awesome. The biggest things I'm looking for are like those out of the way places you stop once and go 'man that was just awesome.' you know, that road you took through that one part of the country that was just awesome and had great views, or that town you stopped in that had the best apple pie. Or w/e. Americana. Branson looks interesting (Didn't even know what state it was in, hehe.)

jibber
Colorado is a beautiful place. I personally proposed in Arizona.
Polk
Anywhere but here in Texas! But if your passing through, you can certainly offer up a prayer/rain-dance/or wish for that matter... Whatever it is, we certainly would appreciate the thought!
Vorias
In my opinion my friend you should head just south of mohab utah into the canyonlands. Check into a place called needles overlook, its amazing there. One of the best views you will ever see and when i was there it was just me and my friend.
