I'll play as long as none of you bastards are trying to take my money! It's mine!

It's pretty simple, T. Even I can play it with my basic understanding.

Someone forms a group. Players for each position get drafted out. You can have several players from different teams.

Before the weekend starts, you choose which players to play at each position. Usually you get a 3 string depth, I think.

You also choose a team for offense, defense, and maybe special teams. Been a while since I participated in this.

After the weekend, your players, offense, and defense are awarded points based on the performance of the actual players and offenses/defenses as they performed in actual games. These points determine who is leading in the Fantasy League.

Did I get that right, Grim?

Very easy to play. Valek's explanation is pretty good.

(this is all done over yahoo, if you don't know who to draft, look at a 2011 fantasy cheat sheet online)

Here is a grim guide to fantasy football:

We pretend that everyone is a football franchise owner. Valek owns the Rev's, I own the Dopesmokers, You own the Teralis Terrorists.

The postions on each team are QB, WR, RB, TE, K, and DEF. (Quarterback, wide reciever, running back, tight end, kicker, and defense)

We draw numbers from a hat (or random.com) to get a draft order, and then we proceed to draft our teams. There are 15 slots to draft. With that many slots, that means there will be players on your bench and your starters.

Most leagues run 1 qb, 2 rbs, 3 wr, 1 te, a kicker, and a defense.

Draft whomever you like to complete your team. Yay! You have your team!

Each week someones team goes up against someone elses team. Your team scores points based on how well your individual players do in a real life game.

For wide recievers, every 20 yards = 1 point, every touchdown = 6 points.

For quarterbacks, every 20 yards they throw = 1 point, every touchdown they throw = 6 points.

For Running backs, every 10 yards they gain = 1 point, every touchdown = 6 points.

For Tight ends see reciever.

For Kickers, every field goal = 3 points, every extra point = 1 point.

Defense works on a sliding scale usually starting at 20 and goes down for points that they allow.

All points and rules are set by the commissioner, but I'm looking to run a simple scoring system.

Your team has a schedule. Like week 1 I play Valek, week 2 I play Teralis, week 3 I play Anume (even though she probably knows dick about american football), week 4 etc...

This happens until week 14 when the playoffs start, the 8 best teams play down to 4, week 15 those 4 teams play down to 2, week 16 is the fantasy super bowl and to the victors go the spoils. (which is money in most leagues, but this one will be just for fun).

The drafting takes place online over yahoo at a predetermined time that has been agreed upon by all fantasy owners.

That's a god awful scoring system... you don't have anything for QB rushing or any penalty for negative plays (be that negative yardage, fumbles, ints). Almost EVERY league worth even being aware of has a flex position, as well as including special teams plays for the defensive unit. RBs need credit for receiving yards. FG points for kickers are actually based on the distance of the FG, 30 and under being 3 points, 31-40 being 4, 40+ being 5. Get the scoring tightened up, pick a draft method (be that auction, straight rotation or front to back rotation), decide on the number of bench slots, trades a week, when the trade deadline is, playoffs and I MIGHT be interested... but it would be roughly the 8th team in my priority list.

I sent you all the link to our league.

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/register/tos?league_id=741164&password=anume

Thats a link as well. The league is Forsaken Football, password is Anume. I made the maximum 10 people, so there is room for three more.

I have the draft set for sept 3rd 12 noon CST, but we can change it to a different time. When would be best for everyone?

P.S. - We need 3 more people!!!!
