Deykari
Having just finished the final episodes so far of Dexter and Walking Dead, I have a void in my life and require a good series to watch. Any good ones out there? Dey

Deykari
I have tried but I can't even seem to get past character creation now without deleting, I'm fairly sure it's a temporary glitch that will right itself in time to come... inscribed
I have about 50 TV shows I maintain on my media server, and I'd recommend most of them, but it depends on what kind of show you are looking for (genre, number of seasons, etc). Some of my favorites off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned yet: Supernatural Firefly Angel/Buffy Burn Notice White Collar Lost Psych House Breaking Bad Sherlock (the BBC series)
Imoutgoodbye
Take a look at: Reaper Star Trek (original series from 1966, forget the rest, go to hell Picard)

Bimpni
supernatural and house are good to, risking the wrath of valek Star Trek: Enterprise. I've only seen the first season, there's only four in total

Pali
How the hell has no one mentioned Game of Thrones?! The Tudors and The Borgias are both fantastic historical dramas, as is Spartacus, though the latter is of a very different style (aside from the extra violence, there's a poetry to Spartacus's writing that's hard to describe to people who haven't seen it). And Enterprise is, by far, the worst of the Star Trek shows. Deep Space 9 is my personal favorite, though many like TNG more. I'll think of more when I'm not posting on a smoke break at work. Bimpni
I'd have to disagree with you pali, I think voyager was the worst ever. For those of you that don't know, Enterprise is a prequel to the original startrek From what I heard the writing in the last season got progressively worse as ratings had dropped, so they rushed to be able to wrap up the series. I've only seen the first season, but I liked it. I did watch Deep space nine, and thought it was alright.
Pali
Voyager wasn't very good, and I agree that it ended badly. However, as a fairly hardcore Trekkie, Enterprise pissed me off with major ret-cons right off the bat. The first two seasons were far too focused on making humans always good guys and sticking too much to the happy endings. I just finished season three of Enterprise, which is notably better than the first two (except they made the opening song even worse than it already was), but I've yet to find any episodes that have stuck in my head as great television - every other series I'd say has a few, including Voyager. Bimpni
yea the theme song was hard for me to get used to, too. I was like, wtf? Apparently it was the first star trek series to not have a custom theme song.
Pali
Yes, and starting season three, it's even worse. They make the song all bright and cheerful right when the show takes a much darker (and badly needed) turn... It made no sense to me at all. inscribed
I am going to have to actually side with Pali on this one. Deep Space 9 was the best Star Trek series, with TNG coming in as a close second. Deep Space 9 had Gul Dukat and the Dominion War story arc.... enough said. Not that I'd have faith in any network exec's being able to do justice with it... but could you imagine a Star Trek series airing on Showtime or HBO? I can dream... Evangelion
Pali, I didn't mention Game of Thrones because that's a pretty short lived adventure at this point, with just one season of ten episodes. I blew through that in less than a day.
Pali
Fair point, Bali (edit: and along the same lines, I should mention that The Borgias is also currently only through it's first ten-episode season)... and Inscribed, we may not agree on many other topics, but you and I seem to have fairly similar taste in TV shows. I agreed with nearly everything on your list. I'd also love to see a new Star Trek based on the aftermath of the Dominion War. DS9 had things no other Star Trek had - long term political development, humans not being all perfect examples of morality and social responsibility (the Federation being, after all, a socialist paradise... it was nice to see this ideal rocked a bit), views of the Federation by aliens that weren't part of it and didn't want to be a part of it, actual character development during the show (the only TNG characters that really showed any throughout the show were Worf and Data - in this specific aspect, I'd rank Voyager as second-best), large-scale plot development rather than just episode-by-episode story arcs... it's the pinnacle of Star Trek storytelling if you ask me, and I'd be incredibly happy to see things develop along that line. Unfortunately, it seems like the only continuing of Star Trek in the near future will be through the new J.J. Abrams movies - and while I very much enjoyed the newest movie, it's in many ways Star Trek meets Star Wars rather than just Star Trek... and I loves me some Star Trek.
