Well, I'm stumped.

Ok, so I'm having a fine and dandy day, RPing some very fun angle and getting a PK or two (or ten). I go get something to eat after turning my computer off. I come back...I can't connect to FL. I message a buddy on AIM who tells me FL is not down. So I'm like great...must be a router somewhere that's down. Then, throughout the course of the day, I notice that several other various things will not connect. For example, yahoo messenger. Then there are certain websites that I cannot load. Yahoo, Windows Updates, some various email sites, etc. etc. etc.

I do not have a firewall that could be blocking any ports.

I system restored to a week ago, it did not fix it.

Anyone think of something I might be over looking?

Directions to fix most computers:

1.) stick out hand flat.

2.) place hand on top of tower.

3.) swat the tower repetetaviley (i know misspelled)

4.) check to see if it works.

- If doesn't work it needs more love.

Think I found your problem.

All kidding aside, if you have service pack 1 for XP, you have a software firewall that, by default, is turned on. It's possible that it's blocking some outbound ports.

Another possibility is a virus or your ISP is having some routing issues.

The firewall is turned off. I'm not a novice to computers, which is why this is really baffling me. It -HAS- to be my ISP. I put on another computer and even that one could not connect. But, it's been over 24 hours, usually these sort of problems are handled rather quickly. Another guy in my area is using a local ISP as well, but he can play. The ISPs are different, but it's still coming out of the same area.
